Justin Timberlake, the golden boy of pop, took a cheap shot at Britney Spears while she was trapped in that nightmare of a conservatorship. And for what? A few laughs?
Britney Spears in the Toxic music video | Credits: YouTube (@Jive)
While Spears was fighting for control over her own life, Timberlake was out there casually dragging her in interviews and cracking jokes at her expense. The guy who once played the victim in their breakup couldn’t resist kicking her when she was already down.
Looking back, it’s infuriating. Spears deserved support, not shady digs. And honestly, it still doesn’t sit right. Not with me at least.

If you were a kid in the early aughts, chances are you’re already familiar with Crossroads. Written by Shonda Rhimes, this coming-of-age movie follows three childhood friends as they embark on a road trip that will change them for good.
Like much of Rhimes’ other work, the story takes on taboo topics with a sense of humor and care that makes it feel both entertaining and nuanced. The journey explores what it means to be on the cusp of adulthood; Spears’ song, “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman” underscores the thesis of the film.
Crossroads first premiered in 2002 and is available to stream on Netflix in the US!
Set in a small Georgia town, the film begins with three childhood friends who’ve grown in vastly different directions over the course of high school. Lucy (Spears) is the valedictorian, Kit (Saldaña) is...

Attention, MTV Generation, your ship has come in! Paramount+ is opening the floodgates to bring classic episodes of MTV Unplugged, VH1 Storytellers, and CMT Crossroads to the streaming platform. Over 50 episodes of MTV Unplugged were recently added, and there are dozens of episodes of VH1 Storytellers and CMT Crossroads to experience and explore.
According to Paramount+, many episodes “haven’t been available in 20+ years.” The MTV Unplugged offerings alone are a reason to consider getting a Paramount+ subscription, with iconic performances from bands like Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Tori Amos, Staind, Korn, The Cranberries, Aerosmith, Alicia Keys, Duran Duran, and more up for grabs. MTV Unplugged is a legendary series of performances in unique and intimate settings, typically with acoustic versions of classic songs performed for the first time.

Paramount+ is ready to rock — and they've released over 125 episodes of musical performances to its streaming service to prove it. Coming at you from the other Viacom-owned properties like MTV Unplugged, VH1 Storytellers, and CMT Crossroads, many of the episodes haven't been seen since they first aired. And with a list of performances that includes the likes of Elton John, Neil Young, Mariah Carey, Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan, and even Nirvana's now-iconic November 1993 performance — which aired a mere seven months before the singer Kurt Cobain died — the list is a treasure trove for any music fan.
According to a press release from the streamer, more than 70 of the episodes have not been available to the public for more than 20 years. And, considering how much purging of content Paramount Global has done over the years, it's a relief to see that some things still get saved in the digital age.

Spoilers: This post contains details about the Yellowjackets, Season 3 episode ‘Dislocation’.
Although Sophie Nélisse’s Shauna has experienced insurmountable loss on Yellowjackets, the new season sees her gain an unexpected friend.
At Thursday’s Season 3 premiere of the hit Showtime series, the actress told Deadline about that kiss between Shauna and her teammate Melissa (Jenna Burgess) at the end of episode 2 ‘Dislocation’, now available to stream on Paramount+ with Showtime.
“It’s a very interesting dynamic, which I don’t even think that Shauna truly understands herself,” Nélisse explained. “I don’t think she knows what she wants. I think she’s sort of at a crossroads where what she needs deep down is to feel loved and for someone to just hold her and tell her that it wasn’t her fault, and I think Melissa kind of brings that because she sees her for who she really is...

There are a lot of terrific road trip movies out there. Crossroads, Into the Wild, Little Miss Sunshine, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert — the list goes on and on. But in the Top 10 of iconic movies centered around tough lessons and unbreakable bonds being formed while rolling down the highway, Ridley Scott’s 1991 feature, Thelma & Louise is certainly at the top. Starring Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis, you simply can’t get two better actresses to headline a movie about sisterhood and sticking it to the patriarchy. But, with supporting work from Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen, Christopher McDonald, and Brad Pitt in one of his career-making movies, the film has solidified itself as a classic now more than three decades since its release (we are all old). Right now, you’ll want to put the pedal to the metal to catch the classic on Prime Video...

Many aspiring actors flock to reality television, hoping the media exposure will catapult them to stardom. Few celebrities become household names overnight; most actors spend years working bit parts and obscure gigs before finding their big break. When these two facts are combined, it explains why some of the industry's most prominent actors started their careers on reality TV.
Everyone knows that megastars like Kim Kardashian and Kelly Clarkson rose to prominence thanks to reality TV. However, the vast majority of reality stars have to settle for fifteen minutes of fame, if they leave any impression at all. Zoe Saldaña starred in a Netflix drama, From Scratch, that flew under most people's radars and now viewers may be wondering if it's worth returning to. While she's there, she falls in love with a free-spirited chef, Lino (Eugenio Mastrandrea), and begins to realize that maybe there is more to life than just what she planned for herself. Give your favorite music fan a box set for the holidays this year? You had a ton to choose from. Last year, record labels released enough shelf-straining packages of CDs or vinyl to fill a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame exhibit, with sets highlighting the works of David Bowie, Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Elvis Costello, and more. And that’s in addition to the copious amounts of jazz sets regularly released, like 2024’s six-cd/eight-lp behemoth Miles in France, the latest volume of the Miles Davis Bootleg Series.

Over a year after Barbie's record-breaking theatrical release, Netflix added the highest-grossing film of 2023 to its library, where it sits among many other similar movies. The fantasy comedy, directed by Greta Gerwig and written by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, is the first live-action film based on Mattel's Barbie fashion dolls. Barbie stars Margot Robbie as the titular character, who travels from Barbieland to the real world after she starts losing all the qualities that make her a "perfect" doll. The movie was a tremendous success, both financially and critically, resulting in Gerwig and Baumbach developing a Barbie sequel (per The Hollywood Reporter).

Updated Nov. 30: Broadway musicals adapted to the screen are an erratic genre at the box office, despite Miramax’s multi-Oscar winning Chicago reviving the long-dormant Hollywood genre back in 2002 with $306.8M WW. Yet for every Les Miserables ($442.7M) hit from Universal, there were massive misfires like Dear Evan Hansen and Cats. This weekend, Universal defied the odds with their feature take of the $5 billion-grossing Broadway stage show Wicked, opening to $112.5M domestic, $162.5M worldwide as of Monday morning.
Here’s all the records that Wicked broke in its opening weekend:
The Highest Grossing Movie Ever Based on a Broadway Musical at the Domestic Box Office with $214M and counting as of Nov. 30.
Biggest Global and Domestic Opening for a Movie Based on a Broadway Show, beating the worldwide opening of 2012’s Les Miserables ($103M) and the domestic opening of Disney’s 2014 Into the Woods ($31M).

There's so much equipment to loot or buy in Dragon Age: The Veilguard in the form of armor, weapons, and accessories with special, unlockable abilities that can be accessed as Rook trades the Caretaker for upgrades. Equipment in Dragon Age: The Veilguard can be found or purchased, but not crafted. However, once Rook recruits Bellara, and she repairs the Eluvian on the lower level of the Lighthouse, granting access to The Crossroads, Rook can meet the Caretaker, who can help outfit them for battle with both faction enemies and blighted gods.
Gear upgrades in Dragon Age: The Veilguard increase an item's stats and unlock special additional abilities. This is true not only for Rook's gear, but for their companions' items as well. Gear can also be enchanted to apply additional, custom effects to equipment that should fit any playstyle. To make these upgrades, Rook will need to visit - and upgrade - the Caretaker's Workshop.

Leslie Fram, CMT’s senior VP of music strategy and talent for some 13 years, penned a farewell letter to the staff that she posted on social media Tuesday, just days after the channel was gutted by the network-wide layoffs at its parent company Paramount Global.
Fram is a longtime major player in the country-music community who oversaw the channel’s music programming overs on all verticals as well as the CMT Music Awards and franchises like CMT Storytellers, Giants and Crossroads, among other responsibilities. Yet her stature in Nashville reaches far beyond the channel, as is evident in her farewell letter:

Although Macchio had done impressive work in the complex coming-of-age drama The Outsiders and the musical adaptation Crossroads, The Karate Kid allowed him to be both a teen idol and an action star, as the film itself would go on to be cited among the greatest sports films ever made. It begs the question: Did Ralph Macchio really do these stunts?...

Star Trek is an ever-growing franchise, with 11 television series, plus two series of shorts and two separate film series. But despite all these spinoffs and spinoffs of spinoffs, only a couple of branches of the franchise have been given sequels. The Original Series has The Animated Series as a continuation, then its run of six sequel movies, plus a prequel series (Strange New Worlds); and The Next Generation has four films and a sequel series (Picard), plus a spiritual sequel in Lower Decks. But Deep Space Nine has had to make do with a single episode of Lower Decks and Enterprise gets nothing but the occasional mention as easter eggs.
Voyager, however, has been more fortunate. The inclusion of Seven of Nine as a main character in Picard has already given at least one Voyager character the full sequel treatment, but some fans might not realize that there is another...

It's hard to pick just one favorite character on the reimagined "Battlestar Galactica." One especially beloved member of that ensemble though, is Kara Thrace/Starbuck, the hotshot pilot with a spiritual side and self-doubt to match her strength. She's at the center of the series from the beginning and ultimately becomes the lynchpin in one of its more ... metaphysical storylines.
In the pilot mini-series of "Battlestar Galactica," the android Cylons wipe out the 12 Colonies of Man. So, the eponymous Galactica and a handful of surviving ships set out to find a new home while dodging their Cylon pursuers. The thrust of the series is this makeshift fleet's search for Earth, mythical home of the thirteenth tribe of man. In the end, Starbuck leads them there, sort of.

Knives and staves are far from Melinoes only weapons in Hades 2, as the Witch of the Crossroads also supplements her abilities with various Incantations. These spells can unlock entirely new gameplay mechanics, but require reagents first. Cattails are one such reagent that can be grown in the Underworld.
Most reagents in Hades 2 are either found scattered throughout the various levels of the Underworld, traded for, or found off of enemy drops. Cattail is a unique reagent, as it is not found by clearing encounters and requires several pre-requisite Incantations before players can acquire this valuable greenery. Obtaining cattail is difficult, but not like gathering cinders or pearls, but instead it requires time, knowledge, and patience.

There are plenty of great Battlestar Galactica episodes out there. The very first episode, "33," is a masterclass in how to successfully kick off a series, and the Season 3 two-parter "Exodus" keeps us pinned to our seats as we wonder if New Caprica can survive. But there's one two-part episode in particular that changed the course of the rest of the series. Everything we thought we knew about some of our favorite Battlestar Galactica characters proved false from the start, and "Crossroads" revealed this to us the only way it knew how. Penned by Michael Taylor and Mark Verheiden, this two-hour spectacle directed by Michael Rymer pushed our heroes straight into the unknown before just sort of leaving them there. "Crossroads" would have profound effects on the rest of the series, but as it stands on its own, it's a powerful season finale with a bite that matches its bark. Now...

It’s been around 20 years since the name Shonda Rhimes first crossed the TV screen. Rhimes and her production company, Shondaland, are still going strong, and for good reason. But out of the eleven shows she’s cranked out, some outrank the others in quality and popularity.
Shonda Rhimes is one of the biggest names in TV today and has been for around two decades. Shortly after her stints in college, she interned at Denzel Washington’s production company and picked up several odd jobs while keeping time for creative writing. She earned a spot to co-write the movie Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, which put her in the Hollywood game and opened the door for her to write more screenplays for hits like Crossroads and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. In the early 2000s, Rhimes took inspiration from a former hospital job to create a show and later a television empire.

Exclusive: Comedian and writer Julian Clary (Julian Clary: Live – Lord of the Mince) will play the title role in this festive season’s London Palladium pantomime Robin Hood, with singer and travel show presenter Jane McDonald (Cruising with Jane McDonald) topping the bill as Maid Marion.
The annual Palladium show, now in its ninth consecutive season, has become an eagerly awaited staple in the West End’s calendar. It runs from December 7 through January 12, 2025. Priority booking opens 10 Am (GMT) April 25.
Last year’s production, Peter Pan, with comedy legend Jennifer Saunders making her pantomime debut as Captain Hook, and with Clary playing Seaman Smee, was a sold-out success, playing 56 performances -often two a day – to an audience of more than 123,000 at the 2,200 capacity variety house.
When tickets went on sale, there was a moment when 90,000 people were in the queue, waiting their turn to book seats.
