The actor and wrestler also made an appearance on WrestleMania 40 and established himself as the Final Boss.

Johnson has a lot of mythos surrounding his The Rock persona. Be it his theme music or signature moves, his persona has made him one of the biggest WWE superstars that has also translated into Hollywood stardom. We're one stop closer to the Royal Rumble after last night's episode of WWE Raw streamed live on Netflix. This week, we were at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, and there were plenty of talking points, most notably with one of the most fun promos we've seen in years from someone well-versed in roasting their opponents. Here's what went down.

The Rock is smellin’ some serious viewership, as the debut episode of WWE Raw on Netflix pinned down 4.9 million views worldwide, with 2.6 million households in the United States. Those are major numbers, especially as the last episode of Raw that aired on USA (its home for the bulk of its 30+-year history) netted around 1.6 million viewers.

In a release, WWE also noted that the Raw debut more than doubled the 18-49 demographic from last year and was the highest-grossing arena event ever for the WWE. Not that they weren’t already, but WWE must be far more confident in their $5 billion deal with Netflix.

WWE 2K24 is all set to launch on March 8 across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms, and some players will be able to play the game as early as tomorrow with Special Editions of the game. The game’s roster is one of the best, with several fan favorites returning to the virtual ring.
