The last few years it is not anymore about gardening, but its the Monty Don show.
IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!!
I watch this since 2001, and the series with Toby are much more interesting.
I love seeing how this program has inspired others to try new things and how it covers topics that are not always easy to talk about. The healing properties of being outside are explored and showcased with videos from all around. This show has inspired me to get a green house and I have been growing flowers from seed and trying my hand at propagation and am already counting down the days to next spring. I think my kitchen will turn into a small jungle by that time. Thank you BBC for making gardening so approachable. I hope this show will be there for a long time.
But with a new host, not the Monty Don Show.

Monty Don is an inspiration when it comes to all things green. He welcomes you into his own garden, Longmeadow, where the series is filmed. It feels like spending an hour in the company of a life long friend.
The series shares a wealth of knowledge and Monty gives some good old fashioned advice. He is a great advocate for wildlife and for organic farming. He even manages to make the subject of compost fascinating.
In my opinion, Monty is to gardens what Attenborough is to wildlife documentaries. Nobody does it better.

Gardeners' World used to be the best show on TV. The episodes were full of educational gardening knowledge presented in a relaxed and enjoyable fashion. I would keep a notebook beside me while I watched to record the useful information provided. Sadly, I haven't used a notebook for 3 seasons.
A typical episode has devolved into social media influencer home videos, stories pushing culture agenda, possibly a tour of a garden, and 10 minutes of either Monty or Adam gardening.
This week my spouse who doesn't watch Gardeners' World walked past the TV and asked,"Isn't this show supposed to be about gardening?". That was my sign and affirmation to stop watching the program.
I rate the new episodes a 3. The older 30 min program gets a 10.
