However, the movie’s success was also credited to the lead actress Jasmin Dhunna who played the beautiful Jasmine in the movie, a young woman who is possessed by a demon. Her gorgeous physical attributes and glamor appeal made her an overnight sensation. However, mysteriously, not only did Jasmin not do any movies after that, but she also disappeared altogether, with no one knowing her background.

Mumbai, April 7 (Ians) Gangu Ramsay, the veteran cinematographer, filmmaker, and producer of the Ramsay Brothers, passed away on Sunday at the age of 83.

While, he has been a part of many iconic films like ‘Veerana’, ‘Purana Mandir’, ‘Bandh Darwaza’, ‘Tahkhana’, and ‘Purani Haveli’, his banner of the Ramsay Brothers shaped the contours of the horror genre in India.

The Ramsay Brothers banner was started by Fatehchand U. Ramsay, whose second-eldest son was Gangu Ramsay. The family landed in Mumbai after the partition of India. F.U. Ramsay came to India with his extended family, including his wife, seven sons, and two daughters. He, along with his elder sons, set up a tiny electronics shop on Lamington Road, an area famous for computer accessories and electronics.

Though the shop did reasonably well, the family was large, and generating money to take care of everyone in the family seemed difficult. That’s when F.

Mumbai, April 7 (Ians) Veteran cinematographer-filmmaker-producer Gangu Ramsay passed away on Sunday at the age of 83.

The filmmaker-producer, who was the second-eldest son of F.U. Ramsay, departed for his heavenly abode after battling health issues for the past month.

He was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai.

The news of his demise was officially confirmed by his family on Sunday.

Gangu Ramsay’s career spanned decades as he worked on over 50 iconic films under the Ramsay Brothers banner, including classics like ‘Veerana’, ‘Purana Mandir’, and ‘Bandh Darwaza’, ‘Do Gaz Zameen Ke Neeche’, ‘Saamri’, ‘Tahkhana’, ‘Purani Haveli’, and ‘Khoj’ with Rishi Kapoor.

He worked with Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan on his debut film ‘Aashik Aawara’, and also collaborated with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar on the ‘Khiladi’ series like ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’, ‘Sabse Bada Khiladi’ and ‘Pandav’.

Titled 'The Ramsay Biopic', it is written by Ritesh Shah.

Neighbours is the latest horror film directed by Shyam Ramsay. It is the first attempt at vampires by Bollywood. It is a typical Ramsay-styled cinema that has stood the test of time and will bring back memories of a happy childhood watching horror films such as Veerana, Purani Haveli, Purana Mandir, Bandh Darwaza, etc.

It is produced by Ramsay and Subhash Dawar, and the associate director is Saasha Ramsay.
