good family movie

We were the horse drawn gun for the picture pulling my cannon. I had a lot of fun doing this movie.

There are many places I think could have improvement, and I can pick it apart but overall I think it is a good family movie with no bad language or gory scenes and is suitable for all. Had a great time with cast and crew doing this movie. The actors did a reasonably good job and the story line was a bit thin in many places. It was done on a tight budget and we had limited time to be there. I think they were on location, generally speaking, @ 2 months complete. and we did not come in until we were needed.

The battle scenes were shot around Bowling Green Ky. and the boat scene was in Tennessee (wasn't there)..so most battle footage was done in 4 week ends. Most scenes were shot from end to beginning, which surprised me.

A solid 7 out of 10

I got to see this independent feature at the Houston film festival and found it to be very enjoyable. Destined to be a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, the film tells the story of a young boy who sneaks away to be a drummer for his small Kentucky town's Union Army regiment. The boy ends up behind enemy lines and gains a new perspective on the war and "the enemy," as he struggles to survive and return to the North. It's an interesting tale that could have benefited from a larger budget. As some of the supporting talent does not hold up as well as the leads. The battle scenes are huge and excellently recreated, without being too gory. The audience the night I saw the picture seemed very pleased. I expect to see this film on Cable or Network TV as it doesn't quite have the scope to play in theaters. Overall, a solid 7 out of 10.
