Every month, Netflix has to purge some of its catalog and make room for new arrivals. Still, the first week of April 2025 is rough. If you wanted to catch many of the films below, you have two days left.

There is no way to binge-watch everything that is leaving. That is true even if you line up several TVs and your computer(s) next to each other and play different things at once. Don't do that because that would be weird (or would it?).

Several franchises are leaving on day one of the month. The excellent Rush Hour films and early Karate Kid movies are gone, as are several animated movies that are worth watching. Here is everything that is leaving in the first week of the month, though.

41 movies alone will be leaving Netflix at the beginning of next month. If you love such franchises as Rush Hour, you might want to binge-watch the first three films over the next week. Those will be leaving your favorite streamer on the first day of April.

The first three Karate Kid movies will be moving on as well. This is bad timing, as there will be a "new" Karate Kid flick coming to theaters in May. That one will star Ralph Macchio (of course) and Jackie Chan and is titled Karate Kids: Legends. The best scenario would be to see the previous films on Netflix before there is a theatrical release of a new addition to the series.

Exclusive: Music label Top Dawg Entertainment (Tde) has launched Tde Films with the new division behind the urban action horror movie The Zone.

Dallas Jackson is directing off a script by David Hayter of the 20th Century Fox X-Men franchise and Jackson. Tde Films is producing alongside former Lionsgate boss Rob Friedman. 20th Century Studios acquired the project. Plot details are being kept quiet other than it has a high concept sci-fi twist.

Rob Lowe of St. Elmo’s Fire and Stephen King’s The Stand is on board to produce and star in the film alongside Crispin Glover, whose credits include Back to the Future, River’s Edge, and Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. The rapper followed up his Feb. 2 Grammy sweep — where he won all five of his nominations for “Not Like Us” — by winning the Super Bowl on Sunday. Lamar’s halftime headline show at the Eagles-Chief game, featuring a medley of his tracks including “Not Like Us,” was an unqualified success. This tops what has been arguably the best of his career — and this man has a Pulitzer.

But the recognition may not be over yet. He surprise-released a new album, Gnx, back on Nov. 22, which means he’s eligible for Grammys again in 2026. And according to the current (and extremely early) Gold Derby odds, he’s on track to win Album of the Year.

The buddy comedy climbed to the top of the streamer's charts shortly after it was released on the platform, reaffirming its position as one of the seminal martial arts action films of the late 90s. The former and incoming First Lady of the United States Melania Trump is coming to Amazon Prime Video — and to theaters.

Amazon has announced that Prime Video has licensed an upcoming documentary on Melania Trump that is being directed by Brett Ratner, the director and producer of films like “Rush Hour 2” who has been on the outs with Hollywood since the #MeToo era.

The movie began filming in December 2024, shortly after Donald Trump won the election, and intends to be completed and released in the second half of 2025. The untitled documentary project will be released theatrically as well as available exclusively on Prime Video, though no specific release plans in terms of the scope of the theatrical release were detailed.

An Amazon spokesperson said the film will give “an unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look” at the First Lady, and that she will be executive producing the film alongside Fernando Sulichin for New Element Media.

No one stays canceled forever, it seems. After being accused by seven different women of sexual misconduct and assault, Brett Ratner's Hollywood career was effectively over. Warner Bros.'s studio dropped him and all future projects in 2017, and he hasn't worked since. That is, until January 5, 2025, when news came of Ratner's big comeback: directing a documentary on former and future First Lady Melania Trump for Amazon Prime Video.

Filming has already begun, Variety reports. An Amazon spokesperson said the film is "an unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look" at Trump, with the First Lady set to executive produce the project alongside New Element Media’s Fernando Sulichin. The spokesperson continued: "Prime Video will be sharing more details on the project as filming progresses and release plans are finalized. We are excited to share this truly unique story with our millions of customers around the world."

To kick off 2025, Netflix has added a new slate of films to its streaming library, highlighted by Dune: Part Two. Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi blockbuster, which Consequence named the fourth best film of 2024, is streaming on the service as of January 1st.

Dune: Part Two, which stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, and more, remains available to stream on Max. The first Dune movie can also be streamed on both Netflix and Max. Additionally, both films are available to purchase together in 4K Uhd.
