    A great game.

Spyro 2 is a very good game. It isn't as good as the other two, but it is still fun and original. An ugly creature named Ripto wants to bring evil to prevent Spyro from vacationing at Dragon Shores. If you are a fan of Spyro, this is a must-buy. I like all the levels, and the game is also fun because if you don't know how to play a mini-game in one level, you might be able to figure it out another day (such as I did with that mini-game in Hurricos). I recommend this game to any kind of gamer, even if you hate cute or adventure games, you should still give this and the other PsOne Spyro titles a chance.

"As good as the first one is."

I really love the original "Spyro" on PS1, so I bought this too. And it turns out to be very well done. It really has the essence of fun like the first one. And this time, our fire-breathing hero goes to new and different world, besieged by an evil ruler. There is a lot to do in this follow-up, you even get to play some mini-games to challenge yourself. This time, it's talismans and orbs you need to collect. This one is still very fun, much better than the next "Spyro" ("Spyro: Year of the Dragon").I really love this one, the settings are better than every, there are more villains and levels than the first. Plus, you also get to use power-ups, which give you more special powers, but you'd have to kill a lot villains first, and it's fun doing so.

I'd really recommend it to any gamer. 10/10 like the first one.

The people from Insomniac Games have done it again!

Yet another brilliant game and the sequel to Spyro the Dragon. After defeating Gnasty Gnorc, Spyro decides that life in the dragon worlds is boring, so along with his faithful friend Sparx the Dragonfly, he goes on a trip through a portal to Dragon Shores, a theme park designed for dragons, for a well deserved rest. Meanwhile in the world of Avalar, a minute dragon-hating dictator by the name of Ripto, along with his two henchmen Crush and Gulp have taken over. So a young fawn named Elora, a clumsy cheetah named Hunter and a absent-minded professor come up with a plan to bring a dragon to Avalar by tampering with the portal in Glimmer. The gateway will shimmer, a dragon bursts into Glimmer, and guess who it turns out to be? Yes Spyro, our little purple hero, has once again gotten himself mixed up in another adventure. Elora convinces Spyro that he must stay and save Avalar and the creatures that call it home. And so the story starts. The creatures will help Spyro in return for small favours, but watch out for the greedy Moneybags, who will do anything to lay his paws on the gems Spyro collects in each level.

A classic worth buying on PSN

Ripto's Rage is best game in the Spyro Trilogy. Insomniac were getting off their feet with Spyro 1, learning how to make a good game, and responding to criticism and feedback from their first adventure with the purple dragon. Their second game fixes almost everything wrong with the first game then some.

Tom Kenny now does the voice of Spyro, which is a huge improvement from Carlos Alazraqui. This game also has a more saturated color scheme compared to the first game, alongside a more varied environment, enemy and character design. What's unique about the levels in Ripto's Rage is that they don't follow a specific theme or gimmick, and at times can look quite surreal. Levels such as Breeze Harbor and Idol Springs show the beauty the original PlayStation was capable of producing.

Perhaps the greatest feature of Ripto's Rage is its storytelling. Before each level loads there is an opening cinematic giving a brief synopsis of the problems the residents of this realm face. Not only is this a great way of showing exposition without reading boring dialogue boxes like in the first Spyro game and YotD, but it also provides cheap, childish jokes, which would always amuse me as a kid.

My only criticism for this game is that it's far too short. There are only three home-worlds, eighteen levels and four speedways. Each homeworld is named after three of the four seasons of the year (excluding spring.) This has led to many Spyro fans speculating of a possible fourth homeworld that was never implemented in the game, although there is no confirmation of this from Insomniac Games or in the game's code. Fortunately, several Spyro fanatics have taken the liberty of forging their own fangame: Spyro 2: Spring Savanna, set in the mythical forth homeworld of Avalar. Think of it as a DLC for Ripto's Rage. Some brilliant people have worked on this project and its looking pretty good from the trailers they've released on YouTube.

    Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage

Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage is one of those game sequels shows how you can make a sequel so good just like the first game.

Spyro The Dragon remains one of my favorite game series. Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage offers quite the surprise.

Spyro 2 added more playing time as well as new levels and characters to the game series.

The graphics are very well done and the art work is very good it is just like looking a art work.

The sound effect is very good and the music is really well done and each level gets their own theme plus the voice acting is pretty good and entertaining the cast really did sound like they enjoy voicing the game.

The controls offer a fun game play and it will gets you right into the game.

The game also allows for new features that were not feature in the first game such as Spyro can now swim and glide longer.

The problem with the game however is some of the levels can be challenging and also most enemies are a pain to fight

Overall Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage is one of the best sequels to any video game.

Great game play, very good graphics, music and story telling the game is a must play

    I give Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage an 8 out of 10
