    Almost Mad

It's far from being a must-see Delon movie, but I like this movie for some reason: splendid cinematography, beautiful soundtrack by composer Francis Lai, and of course, the pairing of (then) real-life lovers Delon-Darc at the peak of their beauty. In the beginning it seems like it really doesn't carry any substance. The rich antique collector Julien (Delon) and his lover Agathe (Darc) live together in a Gothic mansion in the countryside, and are shown to be just having fun, enjoying each other's company and leading a carefree and basically irresponsible lifestyle. They love each other but what's funny is Agathe never really cares about Julien's openly flirtatious nature and even encourages his habit of having affairs. She loves him so much and thinks that it's the only way to keep him by her side. One day a black American woman comes into their lives and Julien is surprised to find himself actually falling in love with her. The three soon become inseparable and for a while, it seems everything works just fine the way it is. Agathe tries her best to accept the situation but Julien can see she isn't happy about it. He wonders about his real feelings towards the two women as he romances them both. Too bad this is not told in great depth, although Delon seemed to be trying well to play the ultimately dumbfounded and confused Julien. In the end, his decision caught me by surprise.

    Madly indeed!

When it was released ,some found it scandalous!"Carry on M.Delon, and there will not be moral anymore!" But actually when I saw the movie in a theater when it was released ,most of the audience found it so ridiculous that they were laughing and shouting ironical remarks such as "That's psychological drama!".The story (written by Delon's then partner Mireille Darc)goes like this:two lovers meet a gorgeous black woman and they become a menage à trois! There's nothing else to say except that there are beautiful shots of the Mont Saint Michel.Delon produced the movie as he did for a lot of his movies at the time. Some years later,he would redeem himself by producing Joseph Losey's "M.Klein".

    Just beautiful images and music

When I saw for the first time this movie 25 years ago I was a romantic young man , a real French and Alain Delon lover. At that time I have been living in Iran. This movie was an image of a France that I was looking for. Apart Alain Delon beauty and the wonderful landscapes of this movie played in "Bretagne and Normandie" (Mont saint Michel) the rest is nothing valuable, Oh sorry I forgot the music from Francis Lai again with his excellent sound music (Madly Générique)contribution to this movie.Half of the beauty of this movie , in my opinion' is due to it's music. That's all! Well, 25 years later here in Switzerland this movie is still in my mind Since then I never found any trace (Music record or VHS) of this movie. Is there anyone who could help me on that? If by the way you can watch this movie enjoy it just for its beautiful landscapes, the beauty of young "Alain Delon", if you like him and th music of Francis Lai.Otherwise, don't waste your time !!
