Halloween 2016: 10 Devilishly Fun Drinks to Raise Your Spirits this October
While Halloween is certainly all about kids having fun, that doesn’t mean adults can’t enjoy themselves as well. And what better way to have some fun this October than by making some festive cocktails and spirits that are sure to liven up any party and help you get into a more macabre-minded mood all month long? Even if you’re not an accomplished bartender, these ten drink recipes are easy enough for anyone, and will surely help raise your spirits throughout the Halloween season.

The Devil’s Due

This concoction has been known by many names over the years, but I like to call it “The Devil’s Due,” as once you take a sip, you’ll certainly be ready to give ol’ Lucifer the devil horns. If you want to be super classy, try serving these in champagne flutes, but really, any glass will do.

Ingredients (per...

Charlotte Makes Trouble In The Promo For The Next Episode Of Lucifer: "Liar, Liar, Slutty Dress On Fire"
Unfortunately, fans are going to have to wait two weeks for the next installment of Fox's Lucifer, but from the looks of this promo it's going to be worth holding out for. The episode is titled "Liar, Liar, Slutty Dress On Fire", and that is evidently a reference to Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) trying to pull the wool over her son's eyes while embarrassing him with an array of skimpy outfits. Check it out, and let us know what you thought of the season 2 premiere in the usual place. Charlotte Finds Herself At The Scene Of A Bloody Murder On An All-new “Lucifer” Monday, October 3, On Fox When Lucifer’s mother, Charlotte, turns up at the scene of a grizzly murder pleading innocence, Lucifer is hesitant to believe her tale. Not wanting to leave her on her own, he instructs Maze to babysit her – and not to torture her, allowing him...

Elmo Lincoln and Enid Markey in Tarzan chez les singes (1918)
Murder themes rampant in children's classic books
Elmo Lincoln and Enid Markey in Tarzan chez les singes (1918)
Washington, Nov 3: If you thought that modern children's books are too violent for their young readers, try re-reading classic books for kids from the past.

From Snow White to Tarzan of the Apes to Harry Potter, literature for children and teens has always been awash in violence and murder, according to a new book by Michelle Ann Abate, associate professor of literature for children and young adults at The Ohio State University.

"There has been a lot of hand-wringing recently about the final installments of the Harry Potter books and the Hunger Games novels because of their violence. But that level of violence is nothing new for children's books," Abate, author of 'Bloody Murder: The Homicide Tradition in Children's Literature'.

Forgotten 70's Grindhouse Sleaze: Scream Bloody Murder (1973)
Scream Bloody Murder definitely starts with a wallop that truly can be found nowhere other than 1970s Gonzo-esque film making. The 70s were such a wild west days for films. People were churning out the most brutal, savage and sleazy movies they could think of. Audiences, especially drive-in audiences, demanded quick and brutal movies. Crowds were eating up the gore and sleaze. Producers realizing they could cash in were throwing small am…...

Your Halloween Seasonal TV Preview (abridged) with Schedules
How seriously do you think I take Halloween? Well, I’m fairly frickin’ anal retentive anyway, so I need to book my viewing in advance. I mean I’ll deviate from my itinerary, but I at least need a plan. I can’t be the only one out there with a stick up his ass. So this October/Halloween Season I figured we needed a little guidance. There’s too many damn channels on the cable box, no horror hosts and shit for advertising. So let me be your TV Guide… Keeper.

We won’t touch on everything and I’m sure new programming will come up as October gets itself moving. I’ll throw an update out there from time to time if a special is airing or a new programming line up is discovered, uncovered, revealed or undead. Yes, this is for cable or dish. Network TV will...

This One Will Make You Want To "Scream Bloody Murder" : Review
All the other movies I said were bad, shine like gold when compared to the pile of shit that is Scream Bloody Murder. I know it sounds like harsh words, but it's simply true. I shut it off after five minutes the first time I tried to watch it. But I knew I had to finish what I started. The movie starts with a terrible punk rock song, you know, the kind made specifically for a low budget movie. The movie has an incredible low budget, and it sho…...

Make it an even half dozen. With the chart-topping bow next week of Femme Fatale, Britney Spears will notch her sixth Billboard 200 #1 debut thanks to first-week sales of 276,000 for the pop diva's seventh studio collection.

Though it's nearly half the 505,000 in sales the singer put up with 2008's Circus, the debut easily outpaces the week's #2 showing by Wiz Khalifa, whose Rolling Papers moved 197,000, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan.

Among the other debuts in the top 10 are the physical release of Radiohead's latest, King of Limbs (#6, 69,000), Snoop Dogg's Doggumentary (#8, 50,000) and Mary Mary's Something Big, which rounds out the new titles at #10 on sales of 42,000.

The rest of the top 10: Adele, 21 (#3, 94,000), Chris Brown, F.A.M.E. (#4, 91,000, down 66 percent), Songs for Japan (#5, 71,000), Jennifer Hudson, I Remember Me (#7, down 66 percent) and Kirk Franklin, Hello...

Sum 41 Kills It With A New Track
Deryck Whibley, Jason McCaslin, Dave Baksh, Steve Jocz, and Sum 41 at an event for The 34th Annual Juno Awards (2005)
We love hearing new music, especially when it is from our favorite alternative rock band, Sum 41. Following the release of the single, “Screaming Bloody Murder,” Sum 41 has given Alternative Press an exclusive stream of their newest track, “Blood in My Eyes.” The track is an alternative rock gold mine with fast-paced instrumental rifts accompanied by catchy lyrics and powerful anthem-esque vocals. Sum 41’s upcoming new album, Screaming Bloody Murder, will drop on March 29th. The word blood appears in both of the released tacks. And we don’t see anything bandaging the wounds. We predict this album will kill it on the music charts. Check out album information and [...]...

Sum 41’s newest single, “Screaming Bloody Murder”, has arrived and the release of their upcoming album, Screaming Bloody Murder, is just around the corner. The long-awaited album will drop on March 29th via The Island Def Jam Music Group. It has been four years since Sum 41 has released an album compiled of new music. Their 2008 album, All the Good Sh*t: 14 Solid Gold Hits 2000-2008, was a career collection album, which consisted of their songs of the decade. Paving the way for other alternative rock groups of the 21st Century, Sum 41’s Screaming Bloody Murder will allow the group to continue their precedent musical journey into another decade. Sum 41 to release 'dark' new album
Deryck Whibley, Jason McCaslin, Dave Baksh, Steve Jocz, and Sum 41 at an event for The 34th Annual Juno Awards (2005)
Sum 41 have revealed that their new album sounds "darker" than their previous efforts. The group, whose fifth studio LP is called Screaming Bloody Murder, said they didn't intend for the record to have a "heavier" sound but are pleased with the final result. "There's definitely a lot of passion on these songs," frontman Deryck Whibley told The Vine. "I write the songs and when I was writing them it was in a darker period of my life. It's a heavier, darker record. "It was just the mood I was in I guess. I don't really analyse it and I don't really think about it. I just write songs and whatever comes out comes out. If I'm feeling that way in my own personal life then it will come through in my music." Whibley (more)...

Deryck Whibley Denies New Album Is About Avril Lavigne
Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley has headed off suggestions the band's new album was inspired by his split from Avril Lavigne, insisting the record is "not about her." The rockers' upcoming sixth disc, "Screaming Bloody Murder", showcases an angrier, harder edge to the band's sound.

But Whibley is adamant he is not exorcising the demons of his divorce from the "Sk8er Boi" star following their break-up last year after three years of marriage. He tells Kerrang! magazine, "It's not a break-up record. The record's not about her, and it's not about the whole break-up. It's just us being as loud as we can be, screaming about how we don't give a f**k about anything else other than ourselves."...
