    not bad sci fi

hyperspace is one of those made for video movies, its not bad though predictable,i picked this up in the bargain bin at fye!with 2 dvds for $2.99 the other being something called cybernator, which doesn't look all that good, but ill have to watch it on a boring day.anyway the cast of hyperspace is good;Richard Norton,Lynn holly Johnson, don stroud,James van Patton, and Ron o'Neal(super-fly himself)the movie is about a huge space ship that gets lost in space during a computer malfunction, and the crews efforts to get back to earth.the plot is almost like alien, without the alien.the budget is low and looks like a Roger Corman produced movie but it is'nt.but hyperspace is far better then most of the made for video efforts that came out in the 80's.i guess I'm a sucker for any movie that has pretty blonde Lynn holly Johnson in it.5 out of 10.

    Worst movie ever

without meaning to be mean, i have to say its the worst movie ever. we watched this movie at a video fair, which was a presentation of the worst movies ever made, and this movie actually won. the plot is to sad to be true, and is unbelievable that adults can come up with such a bad plot. also the acting is a joke. richard norton has never acted that bad before, as well as the entire cast. my favorite action scene, is when this ugly giant in the beginning, tries to kill richard with his plastic knife. The giant holds an obvious plastic head in his hand, thats makes already the beginning cheaper than anything I've seen before. so if you watch it, make sure you don't expect a good movie. thanks

    Not bad. I Enjoyed it.

I was surprised by this Simitar release. It is actually pretty good. Not bad at all for a video release. I think Lynn Holly Johnson is so charming and Ron O'Neal is a class act. It is very similar to Corman films from the same era like Dead Space, Galaxy of Terror and Forbidden World. Also reminded me of the ambitious but under appreciated ALIEN imitator "Creature" from 1985. There are few special effects but the drama is well played. Yes, it is predictable but once you reach a certain age you find everything predictable. I am usually only surprised if the ending is so bad it gets me peeved. I wasn't peeved by any of Hyper Space. In fact it was good enough that I am surprised it is not better known. I can find almost nothing out about this film. Its a simple space opera. But nothing remarkable. Good cast. The few effects are decent. The spaceship model sequences reminded me of the fleet ships on Battlestar Galactica 1978.

Arias Christensen: Hello Tubbs. Um, I wanted to make you this tape because I know you have a long journey home and I thought it would keep you company. I also wanted to thank you for not telling anyone about me. I was always afraid if they knew they might treat me differently. And don't worry about Stanton, I'll take care of him now. I know you think I love him. Maybe I do. It's hard for me to know what love is. And it's frightening to think he might love me back. Listen to me, confused and insecure. I sound almost human, don't I? Ha! Well, I hope you're finding the hyber unit comfortable, and there's some books I've placed on the shelf over there.
