"Innale" is a film that clearly depicts the maturity of Malayalam cinema. Padmarajan portraits the life and trauma of a beautiful girl who develops amnesia after a bus accident during a pilgrimage trip. He has sensually and successfully filmed the movie with a story line which when not handled properly, could have been branded as just a "commercial stunt". The film underscores the beauty and intensity of love that evolves during times of hardship.By all means, "Innale" is an impeccably picturized masterpiece in Malayalam cinema, and the audience is sure to be left by a vicarious sense of helplessness experienced by Maya. Shobana, the acclaimed danseuse and national award winning actress, perfects her role as Maya, who is left helpless not knowing the past. Her transition to a girl who finally accepts the reality and turns optimistic is one of the most touching illustrations of human agony, helplessness, love, sacrifice and optimism. Never ever miss this.
I don't think it is necessary to write a long review of the movie Innale; this film by the classic director P. Padmarajan is pure class.
It is well-written and gives Suresh Gopi one of the best roles of his career as Dr. Narendran.
The movie presents two contrasting concepts of love: one character, who can at times be interpreted as selfish, holds on to his lover without considering her past, while the other gives up his love with dejection when she fails to recognize him. At the moment he starts leaving the house, the character of Narendran quietly walks into the minds of the viewers, leaving a lasting impression.
The female protagonist has lost her memory in an accident, and her life in the movie reflects her name, Maya, which means illusion. She remains an illusion crafted on the silver screen by a master filmmaker.
