    Fun and Frolic

The film like this one and 'Victoria no. 203' and 'Ek se badkar ek' are fine attempts to entertain masses. If you are a lover of chase crime dramas, then see this one and you will never forget. Men like Ashok Kumar, Pran, Iftikhar and Anwar Hussain were indelible part of such entertaining pictures.

Storyline is simple and there is nothing much to say about performances, yet its entertaining appeal is universal. There is not a moment which would bore you, it runs and runs and runs. All the characters are in a way following each other. The scenes between Deven Verma, Shashi Kapoor and Ashok Kumar are funny. You will definitely like this one.

    Wholesome entertainer.

    Chori Mera Kaam review :

After the super success of Victoria No 203 (1972), Director Brij Sadanah made Chori Mera Kaam which had similar plot points - two thieves working together, a heist gone wrong and ofcourse, a lost and found formula which never failed in the '70s.

Shashi Kapoor and Zeenat Aman played two petty chors Bhola - Sharmili who stumble upon a manuscript and blackmail a stupid publisher Deven Verma to publish it. The book titled 'Chori Mera Kaam' becomes a surprise best seller and the villain Anwar Hussain decides to borrow its idea of using a mask to conduct a heist.

The legendary Ashok Kumar and Pran teamed up again with Brij after Victoria No 203 but here, they were cast as foes rather than friends. Pran's getup as daku Shera dominated the films posters and became quite famous.

Evidently, Brij had a penchant for numbers and after his 203 wali Victoria earlier, No 7 played a pivotal part in this film which was the identity of the real robber. Later, he made a film called Bombay 405 Miles (1980) proving himself to be a "numbers" man.

Of the cast, Shashi and Zeenat looked great as a pair. The late Anwar Hussain Saahab was effective as the main villain. Above all, it was Deven Verma who stole the show as Pravin Seth - the money minded publisher who is tricked by Shashi Zeenat duo. This is one of Verma's career best performance.

All in all, Chori Mera Kaam is a complete entertainer ideal for a Sunday afternoon viewing. Recommended!!

    Regards, Sumeet Nadkarni.

"Chori Mera Kaam" a complete entertainer

Chori Mera Kaam is a comedy film directed by Late Brij Sadanah. The film stars Late Ashok Kumar, Late Shashi Kapoor, Zeenat Aman, Late Pran, Late Deven Verma, Late Iftekhar, Late Anwar Hussain and Raza Murad.

Petty Thieves Bholanath and Sharmili steals a manuscript containing stealing tips and sell it to a book publisher. However, when the book becomes a huge hit, they fall into trouble.

Chori mera kaam can be termed as one of the typical entertaining 70s masala entertainer with comedy, action and drama and made on the background of lost and found which was very prevalent in that era and lots of films were made around that plot.

Legendary veteran actors Pran and Ashok Kumar teams up again with Brij Sadanah after the super successful and highly entertaining Victoria No.203 and they didn't disappoint this time also.

The plot of the film is simple and execution is also plain and simple but the only factor which makes this film special is superb acting by all the characters be it Ashok Kumar, Pran, Shashi Kapoor, Zeenat Aman or Deven Verma each of them was highly impressive with a special mention for Deven Verma and in my opinion this is one of the best performance by him, we should also not forget the great acting by Anwar Hussain, Iftekhar and the young Raza Murad.

Music of the film was average and apart from the title song none of the song impresses. Screenplay of the film is good and climax of the film is also good.

Overall a great film to watch on a lazy afternoon.
