This movie proves that speaking truth is not always the right thing to do!!! As the title suggests that the movie is about a female (Rekha) who is a liar, and it is this female who shows how much lying can be a worthy quality. Nice movie with some good comedy. As in all Hrishikesh Mukherjee, the setting is a simple middle class family with ordinary existence. It is totally wonderful to see how Hrishikesh Mukherjee finds stories amongst all of us. Truly a mastermind.

this is another great work by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The central character played by Rekha is played passionately and beautifully. A girl who always help others by lying to others. A jhoothi. Amol palekar, raj babbar were also great in the movie. Amol palekar playing strict police officer and raj babar playing well known doctor. They played their characters soulfully. the direction , acting and the script is tight. The dialouges are very realistic and straight to point. the soundtrack is also amazing. Beautiful songs and meaningful lyrics. Great stuff this movie is . if you are looking to spend some free time. go watch this flick. You will not be disappointed. If you like the usual fare of hrishikesh mukherjee. this is not meant to be missed. this flick also has several dynamic characters which you will enjoy throughout the movie. I wud also recommend watching all the work by hrishikesh mukherjee. i haven;t come across any film directed by him is bad at all. Mostly they are realistic and fun . like somehow you are related to that. Cinema has a great power to affect watchers . Hrishikesh has that ability to make the watcher familiar with the movie. so jhoothi shud not be missed . you wont be disappointed . this movie also contains some action. a complete melodrama enjoy
