"dubbing.. synced so well that the audience who does not know the actors will have the memory of having false voice of them"

This is Ghosh' first film about making a film or deals with the life of film celebrities. You will find a parallel to the story of the movie being made inside this and the storyline of itself. Again, the leads has dubbing from other actors, and it synced so well that the audience who does not know the actors will have the memory of having false voice of them. Even it led to a controversy when the lead actress got national award but critics started arguing about if the lead dubber also should be given a equal prize or not. And for me, another treat was the acting of great Sudipta Chakraborty and Chandan Sen.

Unabashed and unapologetic

Such a wonder of art. The movie is not for all for true art lovers. The charecter build up and script is unabashedly beautiful..taking its own time. Not to please the masses the movie is a masterful act of story telling and provokes one to think deeply of life and it's dilemma in general. Brilliant acting by one and all , such that no role is found to be insignificant or out of place. The movie starts with a lady with minimal to no expectations from her life until a director comes to visits her house as the set for his next film. This introduces a lot many charecters and how her life prevails around them. Simple joys seem to touch her and content her in timid ways. But where does this lead to, or does her it even lead to something?

Do give this a watch and again this is not for all, all for few..

Very very slow

This movie is as slow as an arthritic snail walking on a bed of molasses. I have watched most other movies by Rituparno Ghosh - and liked them overall. But this one was a real gritty torture. Kiron Kher acts really well, Shibaprasad Mukherjee is very good in one of his early roles and the the rest are good to adequate.

But the script is just too slow to hold the interest over a period of 150 minutes. Maybe if they condensed it to 90 minutes, it would have worked better.
