The film easily captures the heart of the viewer without any complex plot. Its simplicity and innocence creates a visual experience quite unlike the modern films. Even though there are times when one would think the plot could have been more socially concerned especially about freedom struggle, the movie is capable of justifying itself as a romantic musical. Wherein the two young lovers simply keeps the viewer engaged with their innocence and true love for each other.

A gallant effort in the Hindi remake of the Bengali classic by maker Shakti Samanta.
I have not watched the Bengali classic but now after seeing the Hindi counterpart I would. But I am sure I will miss the eloquent costumes, maybe the impressive sets and ofcourse the colored photography. One thing I will like to point out is the way Rajni Sharma carried out this titular Role. Full cudos, and if there was anyone else who was to fill up these shoes, would not have pulled it off any better than her. I just can not see a 'balika bodhu' better than what Rajni Sharma has portrayed. If I will see this movie again in the future I will do so only for this specific quirky, eccentric, fidgety, yet Bold , intelligent and ever so bright ''balika bodhu''.
It depict how society changes with existence of Child marriage in the evolving interest of sexual desire and focus of of human beyond their physical attractions. We need these kind to project the women empowerment and society beyond glamor from physical appearance rather inner beautification of individual interest for the ultimate goal of this life. Cast role was excellent and the way it was directed also depict how our tradition should carry forward to pass on the way of living. It also depict how an individual family supported in our independence movement. And how our family teaches to interact with the issue handling .
AAA very great film. I just loved the film and it's a beautiful story of child marriage. In ancient times in India there was a time when child get marry and then when the time comes they live together. This film surely tells the story of that marriage and tells it greatly. The acting by Sachin, Rajni Sharma, Asrani, Kajri are brilliant and Asrani and Kajri had won the supporting film-fare. But I think Rajni did deserve an award but didn't got any. The direction is amazing and the sets are great. Costumes are beautiful and photography is brilliant. Rajni as Chini looks so beautiful that you will fall in love with. Sachin a gochu looks great and you can fall in love with him in this film also. I never knew that he could act so brilliant because I have seen him in other rolls along with stars but think that he is just a extra actor but he is brilliant in this film. The film is worth watching. It's very gullible cute film. Rajni just beautiful and even she is in Sargam of Jaya Prada but there she has grown old but as a teenager she is adorable. I give this 100 / 100 .
Worth watching more than once and I enjoyed even watching 3 times on the DVD . One of best story and best work put together that you can't see. I recommend this films to all even non-Indian because it's telling Indian culture beautiful.
