Pinkvilla has managed to whip up a minor stir by declaring that Mahesh Manjrekar and Sanjay Dutt are reuniting for a sequel to the 1999 gangster drama Vaastav: The Reality, which is still very much alive and ticking in the public’s mind. Since its release, scores and scores of underworld sagas have dripped their sanguinary violence on screen. But none with the same untameable intensity as Vaastav.

In fact a very poor sequel titled Hathyar: Face To Face With Reality was released in 2002. The sequel was so poorly executed and received that everybody connected to it has conveniently forgotten it.

This is where the “news” of a “sequel” to Vaastav comes in. It is nothing but a marketing gimmick to generate interest in project that has long crossed the line of revival.

In the image, Mahesh holds Gautham while their son bends down to reach out for their pet dog.

While Broadcast TV has been shut out of awards shows in recent years, the 2020 People's Choice Awards represented them well. 

Grey's Anatomy, which is a TV institution at this point, secured five total nominations. 

NBC's This Is Us notched six noms across five categories, while The CW's Riverdale had four nominations in total. 

Outer Banks, a sleeper hit for Netflix, managed to score five. 

The show is set to air Sunday, Nov. 15 at 9/8c on E!

The teens have taken over the 2020 People’s Choice Awards, with Riverdale and Outer Banks earning multiple nominations on the television side of the E! kudosfest.

The CW series garnered four nods, while the Netflix drama amassed five. Veteran favorite Grey’s Anatomy also fared well, with five nominations. Meanwhile, This Is Us received six nods across five categories, meaning Mama Pearson and son will be going up against each other for Drama TV Star of 2020.

Now, after a series of acting assignments, Mahesh Manjrekar is set to don the director's hat again. In fact we hear that Manjrekar will direct a project that will be produced by film-maker Sanjay Gupta. "Sanjay and Mahesh are doing a film together. It's an action thriller. As they know each other for over 15 years, their sensibilities match superbly. Sanjay is confident that Mahesh is the best person to helm his next production," says an insider. Apparently, the yet-untitled film will have a 'huge ensemble cast', comprising 20-25 actors. "Sanjay is planning to erect a huge set at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad for the film," adds the source. When contacted, Sanjay, who is currently working on a film featuring Hrithik Roshan, says, "Mahesh is like a family member.
