J. Craig Wheeler, who wrote the novel on which the film is based, and who appears in a cameo as the title character, Paul Krone, is the father of the director, J. Robinson Wheeler.
Charles Pascoe, who plays Viktor Korolev, is the father of Benjamin Pascoe, the film's producer and star (as Alex Runyan).
