      Amazing performances with weak screenplay/storyline..

Director Sanjay Gupta is a big name I'm terms of crime drama gamgstar films and this film is earliest career films of his so I'm not gonna judge much but still say it's very average in terms of story, screenplay and direction.

Characters was good and specially the performance of all characters is brilliant and totally justifies the roles.

The film doesn't have a depth storyline it's a short story with minimum characters and that's good because film doesn't waste time on unnecessary things except songs but the direction and screenplay could've been more better.

Songs are mid not that popular and bgm is average not that powerful.

Sanjay Dutt as one man show carries the whole film with superb performances.

Supporting cast also good with suitable performance doesn't disappoint.

So is this movie deserve it's name I would say not because screenplay/story is too weak and can't handle the proper scariness which was supposed to.

Overall definitely a one time watch for performances and a different style of crime drama...

Good Performances, Average Storyline and Direction

Storyline: Neha (Manisha Koirala), who lives with her grand-father and young sister, lands a job as an Air-hostess in an international Airline and comes to Mumbai. She stays with her friend Ritu who is engaged to a police inspector (Sharad Kapoor). However, when returning from Ritu's engagement party, Neha witnesses the murder of a senior police officer by a Mafia Don's son Parmeet. In order to silence Neha, the Don hires a dangerous killer Babu (Sunjay Dutt), who unwittingly falls in love with her. How Babu prevents Neha from naming the accused and how the truth finally triumphs forms the rest of the story. Performances: Sanjay Dutt has really metamorphosed into one of the best actors of the country, not to mention his phenomenal screen presence. The role of the action hero suits him to the T. Manisha Koirala too stands out, especially in the emotional scenes. Sharad Kapoor impresses. The story is racy and keeps you on the edge of the seat. However, too much violence could be rejected by a part of the audience.

Overall Director Sanjay Gupta again shows his competence as a director. His use of close-ups is very effective at places. Sanjay Gupta is let down by his own story and screenplay.

      Khauff is a thriller.

A thrilling experience to see a desi version of 'The Juror'. Only thing is that 'The Juror' succeeded in being a dark thriller, whereas Khauff just proves to be your average masala flick. Loaded with colorful songs and silly comedians, we have some ugly villains in the mist, who looks more like drunk nightclub folks, more than men from the mafia.

Sanjay Dutt, the sinister villain, is the ONLY hitman who can sing, dance, dress like Calvin Klein, wear bright colors, romance and... fall in love.

Maybe Sanjay Gupta should've seen The Professional, first, to get a feel of what a hitman is really like, rather than throwing his glamour-doll in the scene to scare us.

Sorry Mr.Gupta, but using scenes from Replacement Killers, The Juror & Endless John Woo films, and stealing music from Wild Things, Replacement Killers & Prince of Egypt (Yes, I noticed that one in the end, too) will get you nowhere as a director...

Instead, you'll be better known as a DJ... the mixer of movies-n-music.
