Dharmendra's charm, romance, emotions, anger and the songs

Aaye Din Bahar ke, like the name says is like breeze of fresh air that is so refreshing.

Story is not complex, but predictible. Ravi(Dharmendra) falls in love with Kanchan(Asha Parekh) and soon they are about to be engaged. But some hidden secret comes out at their engagement ceromony and life of both Ravi and Kanchan takes a huge turn.

For the first thirty minutes, its all romance and light moments. You will only notice Dharmendra's charm, innocence, which steals your heart. His comic timing is superb and the first half of the movie is just that. Light hearted story that just relaxes you. Asha Parekh in the first half is equally charming and she is looking so very beautiful. I just loved both of them in the first half.

Second half is where the story gets tensed as there are lots of emotions and anger at display. It is amazing to see the range of Dharrmendra as an actor. He is suberp in displaying his rage and anger and emotion. Balraj Sahni appears in second half and he is equally convincing as a judge with a dark past.

After roller coster ride of twists and turns in the story, the end is also pretty much the same as most of the movies - happy ending.

Raghunath Jhalani has done very good work as a director and I guess this was his first movie. He later made couple of more emotionally complex cinema.

But the thing is that, apart from all its predictibility you will still find freshness in the movie. Performances and direction sets this movie apart.

Music of the movie is soulful.

Melodrama and great songs!

A 1960s Bollywood melodrama that has songs, light fun in the first hour, scenic view of Darjeeling, and a twist in the plot that touches upon illegitimacy and identity.

It's a solid Bollywood film of yesteryear with great performances from Dharmendra, Asha Parekh, and Balraj Sahni.
