Magical and haunts the memory.

This has been like a fragment of a dream in my adult memory...I've often doubted that it was ever aired on my t.v screen as I seem to be the only person that ever watched it on television in the 1960's! A truly magical and mesmerizing production viewed at a key point in my imaginations journey from facts to fictions and back again.Delighted to discover this testimonial to its existence! Vividly recall the magic of the humans dressed as animals and mythical creatures and the cold imperious majesty of the White Witch, in particular her exchanges with Aslan which I found dramatic chilling and, at one point, heartreaking. This series is my only childhood viewing experience of engaging in such intense emotions and reactions. I'm certain the power of this drama lies in its story and my age when first introduced to it but how I wish I could view it just once more!

Another loss by vandalism

Like Eva Culver, I have long wanted to revisit this original version. I watched the whole thing first time round, age 6, The memory of the first fight and the arrival of Father Christmas, the visit with Mr Tumnus, the evil Queen, Asian and his breath and his sacrifice on the great stone table. The way the animal costumes were made. Action, emotion and excitement. This series was so much better than the later BBC versions of Narnia. It also prompted me to buy the books for myself and read them. It is tragic that this and so many other series are lost to the perpetual, cultural vandalism of the era. I hope these are recovered like the missing Dad's Army, Timeslip and others have re-surfaced.
