Ke Huy Quan and Harrison Ford Reunite at Oscars as ‘Indiana Jones’ Actors Share Emotional Hug on Stage
Image
Ke Huy Quan ended an emotional Oscars night by reuniting with his “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” co-star Harrison Ford on stage. Ford presented the final award of the 2023 ceremony, which went to “Everything Everywhere All at Once” for best picture. As Quan and Ford came face to face as the “Everything Everywhere” cast took the stage to accept the prize, the two actors and former co-stars shared an emotional hug. Quan won the Oscar for best supporting actor earlier in the ceremony.

Ford championed Quan’s performance in “Everything Everywhere” all awards season long. Quan got his start in Hollywood as a child actor, making his feature film debut opposite Ford in Steven Spielberg’s 1984 adventure “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.”

“I’m so happy for him. He’s a great guy,” Ford told Entertianment Tonight about Quan’s Oscar nomination in January. “He’s a wonderful actor.

Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort And Kimmelot Team For Mockumentary Oscar Ad Tribute To Made-Up Film Legend “Otto Desć”
Image
Tonight’s Oscar telecast featured a sincere (at least at first) black-and-white tribute to a film industry luminary named Otto Desć.

Despite the praise heaped on Desć by actor-director Elizabeth Banks, actor Ron Perelman, cinematographer Mandy Walker and visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert, it turns out that he doesn’t actually exist. Instead, the spoof commercial is for Autodesk (get it?), a technology vendor with increasing ambitions in Hollywood. (Watch the full video above.)

The commercial was produced by Maximum Effort, Ryan Reynolds’ creative agency and Kimmelot, with the latter’s Dan Sanborn. The spoof gave Oscar host Jimmy Kimmel a voice even during the night’s ad breaks. Two teasers for the full mini-doc aired earlier in the show, laying it on thick about Desć before the final segment revealed the ruse, with the on-screen talent discovering it along with viewers.

“Maximum Effort loves playing with the cultural landscape,...

Just in time for the big night, Disney+ has released a teaser for "American Born Chinese," the action-comedy that coincidentally stars all four members of the Wang household: Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu, and James Hong.

Unintentionally, the series has become a family reunion for the stars of "Everything Everywhere All At Once," with Yeoh and Quan headlining this adaptation of cartoonist Gene Luen Yang's acclaimed graphic novel. The series will follow a teenage...

CBS is giving NCIS: Los Angeles the farewell it deserves by making it an event. The network has announced that the series finale will air in two parts, on Sunday, May 14 at 10/9c, and Sunday, May 21 at 9/8c. After the last episode, an Entertainment Tonight special, A Salute to NCIS: Los Angeles, will air at 10/9c. “Wrapping up a series is always bittersweet. We were blessed to have 14 seasons together, so bringing it to a satisfying end was extremely challenging after so many years. Fortunately, CBS was gracious enough to give us an extra episode in order to send off our characters in a way befitting their stories that hopefully the fans find both satisfying and hopeful,” said showrunner and executive producer R. Scott Gemmill in a statement. In the first part of the finale, “New Beginnings,” on May 14, CBS teases, “When an Atf agent goes missing, the agency seeks...

‘Barbie’: Ryan Gosling Has Been Preparing His Whole Life to Play Ken — Here’s Proof
Image
Ryan Gosling has been preparing to play a Ken doll for 27 years ever since his 1995 screen debut. Don’t believe us? Well, the proof is in Gosling’s filmography…and his “Ken-ergy” quips.

“Finally, it’s happening. This has been coming my whole life,” Gosling joked to Variety of starring in “Barbie.”

Well, we’re opting to take those words quite literally. Two Academy Award nominations later, and Gosling is finally getting his chance to bare his chiseled abs and knockoff Calvin Klein briefs for Oscar-nominated Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” epic, in theaters July 2023.

Sure, it may seem that Gosling’s darker roles may not totally fit in the Mattel-produced Barbie Dream World, but every step in Gosling’s fated path proves he’s been Ken for a long time coming. It is all about Ken-presentation, after all.

“I felt like I was seeing myself. I felt seen,” Gosling added.

‘Ted Lasso’ Season 3 Set Dealt with Covid, ‘Pressure,’ and Massive Crowds: ‘More Security’ Needed
Image
“Ted Lasso” may be coming to a close, but the beloved Emmy-winning Apple TV+ series was forced to “go with the flow” during production.

Series lead and co-creator Jason Sudeikis revealed that while writing the third and final season, storylines had to pivot based on everything from crowd control to the weather.

“I mean, that’s how we went about writing it, that we wanted to close up this chapter of it. So much changed with when you hire writers, when you cast it, just based on the elements of the day like, ‘Oh, we want this to happen, but oh, it’s raining,’ so you have to go with the flow,” Sudeikis told Entertainment Tonight. “So, there’s good ways to go with the flow, and there’s adjustments. It’s all been splendid and harmonious, but the idea was to do three years. I mean, if we had the opportunity,...

How ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’ Differs from Taylor Jenkins Reid’s Novel
Image
Prime Video’s “Daisy Jones and the Six” boasts catchy songs, an all-star cast, and killer ’70s costumes, but the series has made quite a few changes to its source material.

Based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s bestselling novel of the same name, “Daisy Jones and the Six” stars Riley Keough as the titular Stevie Nicks-inspired rocker whose fiery passion lodges unexpected tension in rock band The Six, led by charismatic frontman Billy Dunne (Sam Claflin). Camila Morrone stars as Billy’s wife Camila, with Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, Josh Whitehouse, and Sebastian Chacon playing the rest of the rock group.

The novel was devised as an oral history of the fictional band that only released one album but whose meteoric rise was only trumped by their mysterious disbandment. As the series logline puts it: Their music made them famous, their breakup made them legends. Author Reid produces, as...

Jenna Ortega says she was ‘devastated’ she didn’t return to Netflix’s You in season 4

Jenna Ortega has said she was “devastated” not to return to You in its fourth season.

The 20-year-old actor was unable to appear in the latest episodes of the hit Netflix serial killer drama due to her starring role in Wednesday.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ortega described her disappointment at being unable to reprise her You role.

“I was devastated,” she said. “It was easily one of my favorite sets that I’ve ever, ever been on. I was so devastated. I miss Ellie, and I’ve been wanting to go back to Ellie for a long time, but I was in Romania shooting Wednesday.

Aubrey Plaza Is "Down" to Collab With Jenna Ortega After Deadpan SAG Awards Skit
Image
Aubrey Plaza and Jenna Ortega have broken the curse of notoriously cringe award show presenter skits. The duo took the stage together at the 2023 SAG Awards on Feb. 26 and played into their shared deadpan tendencies while announcing Sam Elliott as the winner of outstanding performance by a male actor in a television movie or limited series.

After standing in silence and eerily peering out into the audience for several moments, Plaza said, "I don't know why they paired us up together," to which Ortega responded, "Yeah I know, we have nothing in common." With nary a smile in sight, Plaza added, "We should find the people who did this," before the pair recited in unison, "And curse their families and watch as misfortune follows their bloodline for the next seven generations." The whole audience was in stitches over their sullen delivery, including Adam Sandler and Angela Bassett, who were spotted cracking up in their seats.

Riley Keough may be Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, but she didn’t let the pressure of trying to live up to the family name get to her while shooting “Daisy Jones & The Six,” Amazon Prime Video’s adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel. She stars as the lead singer of a Fleetwood Mac-like band in the 1970s. “I have a quality where I don’t really care if I mess up, if I do something stupid or if I do a bad performance,” she told me Thursday night at the series premiere at the Tcl Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. “I kind of just brush it off and I also have a sense of humor about it.”

Keough also recalled her late mom Lisa Marie Presley didn’t flinch when she told her she was playing a singer: “She’s always supportive of everything I do.”

With a killer on his heels, You season 4, part 1 finds Joe playing detective as he seeks out the culprit. Image
Channing Tatum wanted the best dance partner possible in his “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” co-star. Thankfully, Salma Hayek Pinault was ready to shimmy alongside him.

The lead star and executive producer of the “Magic Mike” franchise credited Hayek Pinault for being the “strongest possible” leading woman.

“That was the one want for how we are in this story,” Tatum told Entertainment Tonight. “I just really wanted the strongest possible [woman] and she came in [and] actually controlled the whole thing.”

He added, “She came and saved our movie because we had a bunch of men that were trying to tell a story about a woman.”

Thandiwe Newton was originally cast in the co-lead role of Max, who is both Magic Mike’s (Tatum) love interest and business partner in a reverse “Pretty Woman” way. Newton parted ways with the production in April 2022 to “deal with family matters” per an official press statement,...

Relive Emily Ratajkowski and Pete Davidson's 1-Month Relationship
Image
Image Source: Getty / Nathaniel S. Butler

Emily Ratajkowski and Pete Davidson's relationship was a flash in the pan, but boy was it sweet while it lasted! While neither of them ever confirmed they were dating (Popsugar reached out to their reps for comment on rumors but did not receive a response), they were spotted out and about quite a few times throughout their rumored fling at the end of 2022, including on holidays.

The reason why fans were so invested in Davidson and Ratajkowski before they both ultimately moved on with other people (her with comedian Eric André and him with his "Bodies Bodies Bodies" costar Chase Sui Wonders) was because they both got out of relationships during the summer of 2022. Davidson's nine-month romance with Kim Kardashian ended in early August 2022 when a source told Entertainment Tonight that Kardashian "kind of wants to be single and date."

Meanwhile, Ratajkowski split...

Earlier in his monologue, Jordan joked, “Tonight, Michael B. Hosting. Michael B. Nervous. Michael B. Vulnerable. Michael will be aiight.” He also shared a clip of himself as a teen on the soap opera “All My Children.”

Harrison Ford Reacts To Ke Huy Quan's Everything Everywhere Oscar Nom
Image
Harrison Ford has nothing but praise for Ke Huy Quan as he reacts to his former co-star nabbing an Oscar nomination for Everything Everywhere All At Once. Quan returned to acting after a 20-year hiatus with the sci-fi film Everything Everywhere All At Once. The film follows Evelyn Quan Wang (Michelle Yeoh), who embarks on a mind-bending journey through the multiverse to save the world as she connects with her alternate lives with her husband, Waymond (Quan). Quan has won numerous awards for his role in the film, including a Critics' Choice Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor. Unsurprisingly, he was among the Academy Award nominees for Best Supporting Actor.

Image
Harrison Ford is over the moon about Ke Huy Quan earning an Oscar nomination, the first of the latter’s career. Quan is nominated in the supporting actor category for his performance in “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” which has already garnered him prizes from the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards. Quan got his start in Hollywood as a child actor, making his feature film debut opposite Ford in Steven Spielberg’s 1984 adventure “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.”

“I’m so happy for him. He’s a great guy,” Ford told Entertianment Tonight about Quan’s Oscar nomination. “He’s a wonderful actor. He was when he was a little kid, and he still is. I’m glad. I’m very happy for him.”

Harrison Ford Explains How He Wound Up in Brett Goldstein and Bill Lawrence’s ‘Shrinking’ Series
Image
Brett Goldstein and Bill Lawrence didn’t have to do much to convince Harrison Ford to co-star in their new Apple TV+ comedy series, “Shrinking.”

In the show, Jason Segel stars as a therapist who is facing his own personal issues, including the unexpected death of his wife. Ford plays his boss and mentor while Jessica Williams plays another therapist at the practice.

At Thursday night’s premiere in Los Angeles, Goldstein remembered being quite gobsmacked meeting the “Indiana Jones” and “Star Wars” legend in London to talk about the project. “I walked in and he said, ‘Best script I’ve ever read,’” Goldstein told me. “I saw a bunch of scripts on his table and I thought, ‘He thinks I’m someone else. There are loads of scripts here. This is embarrassing.'”

“He went, ‘Best dialogue I’ve ever read,’” he continued. “I said, ‘You want to do it then?...

Fifth Season COO Exited Following Alleged Misconduct At Company Retreat
Image
Exclusive: Former Fifth Season COO Tim Robinson, who recently left the company, was let go following an allegation of misconduct, Deadline can reveal.

Multiple sources tell us that soon after being presented with the allegation, Fifth Season investigated and agreed with Robinson that the two would part ways.

We understand the alleged incident involved Robinson pulling someone’s trousers down at a 2022 company retreat. It’s not clear what the context was or whether there is ongoing legal action stemming from the incident.

Fifth Season and Robinson — who left the company last month — were unavailable for comment.

Earlier this week, Deadline broke news of Robinson’s exit but at the time the departure was described as an “amicable” one. He served four years at the company. Currently, his COO duties are being handled internally.

Thuso Mbedu and Katie Holmes Support Women Filmmakers at Chanel’s Through Her Lens Luncheon
Image
Click here to read the full article.

Jane Rosenthal wasn’t mincing words about the slow growth of women’s representation behind the camera in Hollywood: “The statistics are bleak,” she said Sept. 20 at the Through Her Lens luncheon, presented by Chanel at New York’s Locanda Verde restaurant in the Greenwich Hotel. “The numbers have hardly budged over the years, despite assumed progress.”

Indeed, even as conversations about women-helmed projects have heightened in recent years, Rosenthal pointed to industry figures gathered since 1998, noting that the percentage of women directors, writers, producers and cinematographers since then had only increased by four percent. “More than two decades and an increase of only 4 percent? You’ve gotta be kidding me,” added Rosenthal, the CEO and co-founder of Tribeca Enterprises, host of the annual Tribeca Film Festival, set for June 7-18 in 2023.

If she sounded frustrated, the reason was partly to illustrate why...

HBO’s ‘The White Lotus’ Wrapped Second Season At Italy’s Lumina Studios Near Rome
Image
Exclusive: HBO’s hit comedy-drama series The White Lotus recently finished filming its second season at Italy’s Lumina Studios to the north of Rome.

As previously documented, the show filmed most of its second season in the San Domenico Palace Taormina and on location around Sicily in the south of Italy. The project then quietly filmed for one month in late summer at Lumina, which recently signed a six-year strategic pact with resurgent Italian studio Cinecittà.

Iconic facility Cinecittá is growing its capacity. Such has been the demand for studio space that it has needed to house some productions at satellite venues, including Lumina, which has four sound stages.

It’s a sign of the growing interest in Italy as a production destination that Lumina and Cinecittá were able to reel in one of the buzziest U.S. shows going. Season one, set at a dysfunctional resort in Hawaii,...

Ice-t is weighing in on the possibility of a major Law & Order romance.

The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star shared his thoughts on a possible romance between Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and former partner Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni).

His words indicated he might be open to finally seeing a relationship between the detectives occur but couldn’t say whether the writers would be serious about it.

The actor also mentioned how long he hopes to continue on the hit drama.

Meanwhile, Hargitay joked about a recent Wikipedia post that had listed her as Meloni’s “wife” and how she feels about that.

As the Law & Order teams come together for a big crossover event, this adds to the fan speculation on whether this long-awaited coupling can happen, and some stars are more open to it.

John Oliver Takes Swipe At Sky Network For Cutting His ‘Last Week Tonight’ Joke About The Queen
Image
“Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” fans in the U.K. slammed Sky last week after they axed a joke about the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Oliver previously said during his show: “We need to start with the U.K., which is clearly still reeling from the shocking death of a 96-year-old woman from natural causes.”

He went on, “It is a big moment, which for some reason absolutely everyone felt that they had to weigh in on, from Crazy Frog, which tweeted out ‘Rip the Queen’ [and a] candle emoji – a tweet that’s impossible to read without mentally adding [Crazy Frog’s dance music] – to Domino’s U.K., which posted, ‘Everyone at Domino’s joins the nation and the world in mourning the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts and condolences are with the Royal Family.’

“Which I guess is nice, although if the world is mourning, they should maybe tell the U.

‘Yellowstone’: Will Someone Die in Season 5?
Yellowstone (2018)
Yellowstone is coming back on Sunday, November 13, but it won’t be the normal 10-episode run fans have come to expect. The Paramount Network series is back for an extended Season 5, with 14 episodes to enjoy. The cast and co-creator Taylor Sheridan spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the new season, and Sheridan made a particularly interesting statement, revealing, “if you look at everyone as a chess piece in Season 5, it is impossible to keep playing the game without taking chess pieces off the board.” This means someone important is likely to see their final episode in Season 5. At the end of Season 3, the audience was left to wonder who survived the targeted hit on the Duttons — but as Season 4 revealed, all our favorites miraculously lived. Sheridan knows audiences wouldn’t accept such a move a second time around. As much as it hurts to say goodbye to main characters, a show...

Maren Morris Launches T-Shirt Line Benefiting Trans Rights Groups Amid Feud With Brittany Aldean
Image
Maren Morris is wearing the “lunatic” label as a badge of honour. So much so, the country star’s launching a t-shirt line with the Tucker Carlson-inspired moniker, with all proceeds benefiting trans rights groups.

The “Circles Around This Town” singer took to Instagram on Friday and posted a photo of a black T-shirt with the words “Maren Morris Lunatic Country Music Person” and the phone number “877-565-8860.” That number directs callers to Trans Line Life, a non-profit organization that offers emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis.

Trans Line Life is also one of the two organizations that’ll benefit from sales of Morris’ new merch. GLAAD’s Transgender Media Program is the other beneficiary. The program aims to work with the media to fairly and accurately tell the stories of transgender lives.

The move comes one day after Brittany Aldean — who also has her own...

Joe Biden Warns That Donald Trump And Maga Extremism Threaten “The Very Foundations Of Our Republic”
Image
Joe Biden’s speech in Philadelphia on Thursday evening was a full-blown attack on Donald Trump and Maga Republicans that “represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic.”

Despite White House suggestions that the address would not be political, it’s hard to not see how it would not be seen through a partisan lens, or that it even makes any difference.

Just as the midterms kick into high gear, Biden turned the attention on his 2020 rival, Trump, who, by endorsing candidates like Dr. Oz and Blake Masters, has given Democrats new hopes of avoiding a wipeout by highlighting their opponents’ weaknesses and wild statements.

Biden’s pitch was that, while he’s worked with plenty of Republicans when he was in the Senate and during his presidency, the driving force of the party is Trump, with an agenda of denying the results of free and fair elections and,...
