With Earth Day coming up in a few days, Brian Eno has called on Mother Nature to give David Bowie’s 1995 deep cut “Get Real” a unique twist using environmental sounds. The remix has been released as part of a global music initiative called Sounds Right, which has made Nature an official artist on streaming platforms to raise money for earth conservation.

Anne Hathaway spoke about the inappropriate questions she received as a young actor at the premiere of her new film Eileen on Saturday (21 January).

The film – based on Ottessa Moshfegh’s 2015 novel – follows a young prison secretary (Thomasin McKenzie) who befriends a psychologist (Hathaway). However, the friendship soon becomes complicated by a heinous crime.

Talk about a star-studded WeWorkplace: Apple TV+ has given a series order to WeCrashed, a limited series starring Oscar winners Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto.

Based on the podcast of the same name, the drama explores “the greed-filled rise and inevitable fall of WeWork, one of the world’s most valuable startups, and the narcissists whose chaotic love made it all possible,” per the official synopsis. Sharpen your knives, “Dexter” fans. Showtime has ordered a limited series revival of the beloved serial killer drama with Michael C. Hall set to return.

The premium cabler has ordered 10 episodes, with production set to begin in 2021 for a fall debut. Former series showrunner Clyde Phillips is also set to return. Much like Dexter’s many victims, plot details for the series are being kept under wraps.

Scout Productions, the company behind Netflix’s Queer Eye, is launching a dedicated documentary division.

The unit will be headed by Joel Chiodi, SVP, Strategic Development, who will oversee the content development and production. Chiodi, who was part of the team that rebooted Queer Eye, will report to Rob Eric, Scout’s Chief Creative Officer.

It comes after the production company won documentary orders including Equal, a four-part series chronicling the fight for LGBTQ rights pre-Stonewall, for HBO Max, and Get Real, a doc series about the history of reality television, for Quibi.

“Dexter” and “Nurse Jackie” producer Clyde Phillips has signed an overall deal with Showtime and CBS Television Studios.

Clyde Phillips is getting back in business with Showtime. The former Dexter and Nurse Jackie showrunner has signed a joint overall deal with the premium cable network and CBS Television Studios. Under the pact, Phillips will develop projects for both entities that can air on platforms within or outside the ViacomCBS umbrella.

This marks the first joint overall deal for siblings Showtime and CBS TV Studios, both overseen by David Nevins, which have increased their creative collaborations over the past couple of years. The pact will also likely provide fuel for the never-ending speculation about a potential Dexter follow-up at Showtime.

“Clyde is a world-class showrunner and filmmaker who brings intelligence, depth, maturity and style to both drama and comedy series,” said Gary Levine, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks. “Our many collaborations in the past have been deeply gratifying, and I am thrilled that we will be working together again.

Amazon has shared the first teaser for its upcoming anthology series Modern Love, based on the long-running New York Times column documenting real-life stories of romance and relationships.

Love, Simon isn't the first film to be made about Lgbtq teens. There's Beautiful Thing, But I'm a Cheerleader, Camp, Edge of Seventeen (not the Hailee Steinfeld one), Get Real... the list goes on and on. It certainly won't be the last film to be made about Lgbtq teens, either. But it is the first one produced and distributed in wide release by a major Hollywood studio. Because of that, yes, there is an air of polished mediocrity and safety to the whole enterprise. And yet, it's hard to deny the film's effectiveness.

I don't know if, when I was a teenager, I would have had the courage to buy a ticket to see Love, Simon by myself. I do know, however, that if I had, it would have made my teenage years that much better.

Hulu is ringing in the summer with plenty of new titles to keep you occupied during your air conditioned TV binges next month.

The Stephen King multiverse series “Castle Rock” finally makes its debut on July 25, and the final season of Hulu’s original series “Casual” will land on July 31.

Meanwhile, the second season of Hulu’s “Harlots” premieres on July 11, and Season 4 of “You’re the Worst” is available on July 6. The third season of Lifetime’s “UnReal” is available on July 2.

Part of Hot Docs’ 2017 slate, Kalina Bertin’s “Manic” is an intimate journey through time and the mind as a woman tries to uncover truths about her father.

Convinced finding those truths would help her make sense of her family’s history with mental illness, Bertin attempts to piece together the realities of her father’s past. Discovering his multiple identities, past lives, and the cult who thought of him as the reincarnation of Christ, she weaves her father’s story with that of her siblings, who were both experiencing their own manic episodes at the time of filming.

The film started out as a fact-based feature that followed Jim Stewart, the most published mathematician since Euclid and a gay rights activist, as he discovered his passion for Integral House, an architectural marvel of a Toronto home designed around an internal concert hall.

Halfway through filming, Stewart was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer, a fatal disease that took his life in a matter of weeks.

Grammy Award nominee Christina Milian has joined the cast of Fox's The Rocky Horror Picture Show as Magenta. Milian will play the castle's compliant maid, who, along with her brother, Riff Raff, plots a secret plan to return to their native planet of Transsexual. Reeve Carney (Penny Dreadful) has already been cast has Riff Raff.

Previously announced cast members include Laverne Cox (Dr. Frank-n-Furter, Orange Is the New Black), Victoria Justice (Janet, Victorious), Ryan McCartan (Brad, Liv and Maddie), Adam Lambert (Eddie, Glee), Staz Nair (Rocky, Game of Thrones), Annaleigh Ashford (Columbia, Sylvia, You Can't Take It With You, Masters of Sex) and Tim Curry, the original Frank-n-Furter, who returns as the show's Criminologist Narrator. It isn't known how many other major characters are left to be cast. Fox hasn't announced when the remake may debut on the network.

Chemistry is a strange thing to nail in Hollywood. How do you put two people together and hope there will be sizzling romantic sparks? Now, there’s a wave of actors who are pulling double duty in the chemistry department. On-screen pairs like Godzilla‘s Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen and The Fault In Our Stars‘ Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley aren’t just selling the sex, but they’re selling the idea that they’re siblings in their other big onscreen roles.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen are about to fight Godzilla as man and wife on the big screen, but they’ll both be crossing over into the A-list when they play Marvel’s most famous super siblings, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, in next year’s Avengers sequel. Meanwhile, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort might be due to make us cry our hearts out...

We open on Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) and Olivia (Kerry Washington) doing what they do best … bitterly arguing in between bouts of boinking. The sheets aren’t even dry following some hotel room romp and they’re already making with the bickering. The gist … she’s still upset he made Jake Command, and he’s all jealous about her making Jake her beard.

And it doesn’t help matters that everything out of Fitz’s mouth is some offensively derogatory term, as he calls Liv a “Hen” and “Prize” (not to mention “Sweetie,” “Honey,” “Doll,” “Tootsie,” and “Toots”). Hey, Liv, don’t be so upset! He also uses those terms of endearment with waitresses, lap dancers, and the Israeli Prime Minister.

They exit the room and promptly wipe their feet all over the doormat outside — the doormat being Jake (Scott Foley) who is stationed there waiting to escort Liv home in fake boyfriend mode.
