Loved the original series

But was terribly disappointed when I purchased the DVD. As the previous reviewer stated - it was cut to shreds. I would gladly have paid more for the entire version of each chapter to have the entire series. I have a purchased a few other series to catch up on missed episodes and see the entire series only to be further disappointed to find that they also have been cut to shreds. I don't see why they can't sell us the entire version once they have opened it up for purchase. You can purchase any series of a TV show now so I would think they could do it with the Spanish soap operas also. After all, they are making money selling peoples' favorites so they can enjoy them at their leisure. Come on, Televisa, Univision, give us what we want.... complete episodes, not paper dolls!

Not the same classic!

I can't understand how Televisa can release this on DVD as a "classic."

The DVD's soundtrack has been dubbed over with new music. With the new music it is clearly regurgitated as a run-of-the-mill, everyday Mexican soap opera.

It's not the same classic. You can still hear the old music over the new recording, which is quite distracting. The new track overpowers the dialog at some points.

It is a hack-job, as it appears the show is re-edited and half of it is cut out. I can barely hear the old soundtrack over the new. Yet, as a die-hard fan somehow I'm able to enjoy the show.

Good but flawed

Rosa Salvaje is a great story. However it's full of flaws.

Ernesto is one pitiful, embarrassing character. Every time he comes out it infuriates me. He's an embarrassment for all mankind.

Veronica Castro was also terribly miscast. She's 35!!! She's way too old. It's difficult to sell. Almost every female that is younger looks better than her. Beautiful lady but should not have played the role of a nineteen to twenty five year old. Her voice does not help either. She's thirty five and sounds sixty. But yet she's playing the role of a young innocent extremely beautiful nineteen to twenty five year old. It's too much to believe.
