Shows the power of Indian movies, in terms of respect and love. Kajol's end decision defines brave. The male's past decisions would of turned most against him these days, but all their emotions were so powerful with amazing acting.

Kajol looks beautiful in this movie and Ajay Devgan has reached a new high in acting. He might not be a pretty boy of the big screen but he sure can exude empathy to his audience. The girl playing Nehu is one to watch out for in future films too.
The film has a more than decent gharelu storyline with a tear-jerky type ending. It was shocking to see Mahima cry so much, she probably broke a record for most litres of water shed in one film.
Definitely a recommended film and though it has no outstanding songs, the settings for two of them are the best I have seen for a while. Its a good thing I saw this on DVD as video probably won't do the songs justice. I gave it 7/10 overall.

Honestly don't know why this movie got such low reviews. It was a really emotional movie, not the typical melodramatics, but realistic family emotions. Great movie over all.
An emotionally strong film a truly great piece of filmmaking a skilful piece of filmmaking.a must-see...a smash hit a box-office success. Fabulous movie.
Prakash Jha earlier made realistic films like MRITHYUDAND and others but this was an attempt by him to make a commercial film
God knows why in the same year too Govind Nihalini another realistic film director tried a commercial film THAKSHAK with Ajay again
The movie as i said tries too hard to balance both sides
Problem is sadly the weak script
The family scenes are too convulted while the romance between Ajay and Mahima isn't convincing
The drama between Ajay- Kajol and Mahima is well brought out at times but overall the film lacks a strong script and direction
Direction by Prakash Jha is ordinary Music is good
Amongst actors Ajay looks lost and is typecast as in those days when he played the husband in HDDCS and this role had no novelty for him Mahima shreiks too often and is okay Kajol is the best here the rest are okay Chandrachur Singh is a miscast
