Paparazzi 'Club' clicking at AMC
NEW YORK -- The AMC cable channel is producing a new reality series in which cameras tag along with paparazzi on the hunt for celebrities. The Hollywood Hunt Club emerged out of a documentary the network will air in August about tabloid photographers. AMC was so taken with the footage, they upped the documentary to a full hour and ordered eight more half-hour episodes, which will air Wednesdays at 10 p.m. beginning in October. Club follows a trio of Bauer-Griffin photographers from outside the red carpet to inside the trash cans of the stars they stake out. The series is filled with cameos from celebrities, who are often shown evading the subjects of the show. "As much as this is about the paparazzi and their business, it's also a human story about these people who you spend uncensored time with," said Rob Sorcher, senior vp original programming and production at AMC. Club is produced by Max Weissman and Matthew Levin of Departure Films, which counts Real Sex and Trauma: Life in the E.R. among its credits.
