As with any job, no one signs up for a film expecting the worst. However, there have been projects that made actors want to downright quit Hollywood altogether. Sometimes, it's about the immense shame they feel starring in dud productions; other times, it's about everything else around the movies that leaves a bitter taste in their mouths. Then, there are also the films where the actors expected their careers to skyrocket to superstardom, but the stars simply did not align.
Whichever way, it isn't all sunshine and rainbows in showbiz, because the entertainment industry knows how to shatter hearts and leave a boulevard of broken dreams in its bloody wake. The good news is that even though the likes of Christian Bale and Margot Robbie thought about calling it a day at a point in their careers, they didn't. They stuck around, and Hollywood is better off because of their perseverance.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has long wanted to get his hands on Galactus. When 20th Century Fox was close to losing the rights to Daredevil, the executive offered them the chance to keep the Man Without Fear in exchange for the Eater of Worlds and Silver Surfer.
Fox declined, Daredevil was handed off to Marvel Television and Netflix, and we'll never know what the Infinity Saga might have looked like with Galactus and his Herald put front and centre (minus the Fantastic Four).
New promo art for The Fantastic Four: First Steps has been revealed today, including a much higher quality look at Ralph Ineson's Galactus. We saw a blurry version of that piece a few weeks ago, but this clearer effort is a welcome sight.
There are also several new pieces depicting Marvel's First Family; some are stylised in a way that fits in with the reboot's 1960s aesthetic,...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is slowly becoming the most spoiled Marvel movie since Infinity War. We’ve seen Silver Surfer leaks. We’ve seen Galactus leaks. We’ve even seen baby Franklin Richards leaks (thanks to toy reveals). But fans have been obsessing over one final mystery: Who is Cobra Kai star Paul Walter Hauser playing? We all had theories. And it turns out we were correct. Thanks to Joseph Quinn (aka MCU’s new Johnny Storm), who let it slip during a recent interview at CCXPMX25, we now know that Mole Man will appear in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. When asked, “What can you reveal [to] me about these iconic characters?” Quinn responded with the subtlety of a brick through a window, “It’s certainly a very stacked cast. We’ve got a lot of fantastic characters in there. There’s also Mole Man. Who is wonderful in it.
The Fantastic Four: First Stepsstar Ralph Ineson has revealed the unusual way that he prepared for his role as Galactus in the MCU. The actor found that getting into the headspace of the colossal cosmic devourer required him to think big. After all, the villain can change his size to appear as tall as a skyscraper or as big as a planet. Ineson told Empire Magazine that he went for a drive through the long and echoey tunnels of Mont Blanc, "just imagining that as his windpipe and his trachea," but that wasn't his only source of inspiration:
"I also went to a lot of tall buildings. We went to a wedding at the top of the Gherkin building in London, and I spent most of the afternoon just staring out, ruminating. I got in trouble with my wife — she was like, 'You've got to say hello to the...

There have been big baddies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the years. Take Thanos, who succeeded in wiping out half of all known life in the galaxy and beyond. Ultron took one look at humanity and decided it needed wiping off the face of the Earth. And while Loki has flip-flopped between good and evil, he once inflicted an entire alien army upon New York City. So far, so bad. But with Matt Shakman’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, an antagonist finally arrives who’s so colossal, so all-powerful, he eats planets for breakfast. Literally.
Yes, Galactus is coming, in the form of Ralph Ineson, heralded by Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer, ready to cause an almighty headache for Mr. Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), the Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), the Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach). Former Invisible Woman actor Kate Mara reveals whether she and husband Jamie Bell, who played the Thing, will watch the McU's The Fantastic Four: First Steps ten years after both actors starred in Josh Trank's Fantastic Four. Matt Shakman's The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives late in the Multiverse Saga, kicking off the McU's Phase 6. It also comes almost exactly a decade after Josh Trank's Fantastic Four. Although both movies take place in timelines separate from the McU's main universe, the upcoming Ff reboot is an official part of Marvel Studios' franchise.
In an interview with THR, Kate Mara addresses The Fantastic Four: First Steps, describing it as "totally different" than Josh Trank's 2015 Fantastic Four, where she and her husband Jamie Bell starred as Sue Storm a.k.a. The Annihilators might not be one of Marvel’s foremost groups, but it is a very interesting assembly of characters. It is a very diverse group that includes characters whom you might not expect to see together in general.
Among these characters is the Silver Surfer, an important part of the Fantastic Four lore. The character will make her grand MCU debut in First Steps, where the Shalla-Bal iteration of the character, portrayed by Julia Garner, will appear.
But, Marvel has tesed more appearances of the character and the latest rumor potentially provides more information on this topic!

James Gunn’s Superman trailer is off to a soaring start — and it's already leaving the competition in the dust.
Superman has garnered 19,737,712 views over the past 2 days while Fantastic Four: First Steps has achieved 19,451,669 views in 29 days. A whole 300,000 views less. Which is crazy since many on here thought Fantastic Four would be acquire more views and popularity than the reboot of Superman. Unfortunately, for them, it doesn't look like it's the case.
[You Don't Need To Read This Part. It's Just Added To Fit The Minimum Of Four Hundred Words]
Superman, from James Gunn, will release just 2 weeks before Fantastic Four from a director I can't remember the name of. Perhaps I do remember the name but I don't want to say it, I just want to post extra words because this article need 400 words. Why?.I'm not sure. So yeah, Superman is closing in on 20 million views (most likely will hit that number by the time I find enough things to write about) and Fantastic Four halters at 19.45 million.

No entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is more hotly anticipated than "The Fantastic Four: First Steps." This isn't the first time the original superhero group of Marvel Comics has been brought to the silver screen, although the previous attempts have left a lot to be desired (to put it mildly). MCU mastermind Kevin Feige has been particularly focused on this installment of the Fantastic Four, seeing it as a key part of the future of Marvel films, so secrets have been tightly held for this latest attempt at bringing Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the Thing to life.

The release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps is just over two months away, and the film’s feature villain just got its clearest look yet. A new Lego set has shown off the first look at Galactus, who will be played by Ralph Ineson. Previous trailers have teased Galactus’ appearance in the film while only showing small parts of his look, but this new Lego set shows off the world-eating villain in all his glory. All four members of The Fantastic Four also feature in the new Lego set, with Galactus holding Mr. Fantastic (Pedro Pascal) and Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby) in his clutches while The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and The Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) close in to try to help their team members.

Marvel Comics made their way onto the realm of animated TV frequently, beginning way back in 1966 with the anthology series "The Marvel Super Heroes." The following year, Hanna-Barbera made a "Fantastic Four" animated series, and the company was off to the races. Marvel shows were met with only fitful success and popularity, however. Many youths recall the celebrated "X-Men" TV series from 1992, but fewer likely remember the 1979 series "Fred and Barney Meet the Thing," or the "Fantastic Four" and "Iron Man" shows from 1994.
It's important to remember that the popularity of "Spider-Man" (1994) and "X-Men: Evolution" (2000) are aberrations. The bulk of Marvel animated shows have historically flopped. After the debut of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the sheer volume of Marvel animated shows increased exponentially, and now it's hard to keep track of it all. Many, many animated shows, both good and bad, kind of fell through the cracks. Many still await rediscovery.

Marvel fans eagerly await The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which will storm theaters on July 25, 2025. But a fresh twist has sparked whispers: the film is undergoing reshoots in Los Angeles, mere months from its cosmic debut. The Daredevil movie starring Ben Affleck was released in 2003, with Elektra following two years later. Neither of them was a critical or commercial success, and 20th Century Fox shelved the Man Without Fear.
However, in 2012, Fox realised that the rights to Daredevil were about to revert to Marvel Studios, as there was only so long they could keep the character without putting him on the big screen. In the upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps, some fans have assumed that Marvel Studios has decided to take creative license by casting acclaimed actress Julia Garner as a female Silver Surfer (Shalla-Bal) versus the male Silver Surfer (Norrin Radd). In the Marvel comics' prime timeline, Norrin Radd is Shalla-Bal’s love interest, who becomes the Silver Surfer as the herald of Galactus - in a selfless act to save his home world, Zenn-la. However, there has been Marvel Comics source material to affirm that Shalla-Bal has become the Silver Surfer, while facing similar dire consequences.
Reimaging the role of Silver Surfer with Garner should bring a fresh take on a classic Marvel character created by writer/artist Jack Kirby and further developed by Stan Lee. There have been previous comic book interpretations of Shalla-Bal becoming Silver Surfer in an alternate timeline in the Marvel Comic “Earth X” issue #12 (2000). Despite...

Julia Garner hopes to reach a "different kind of audience" with 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps'.The 31-year-old actress has been cast as Shalla-Bal / Silver Surfer in the upcoming superhero movie, and Julia is thrilled to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.Julia told Entertainment Weekly: "She's so different than anyone I've ever played, and that was also another reason why I wanted to do it."I don't expect everybody to watch 'Ozark' or 'Inventing Anna' or 'The Assistant'. Some people are only going to watch certain things, so that's why I want to branch out to every genre, and that's one of the reasons why I wanted to do Marvel - it's reaching a different kind of audience."Julia read "a lot of the Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer comics" before she began filming the new movie. And the actress has...

“Ozark” Emmy winner Julia Garner is opening up about her introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in this summer’s “Fantastic Four: First Steps,” in which she plays the chrome, surfboard-riding Silver Surfer. However, the role is different from the cosmic character previously seen in 2007’s “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” in that she plays the female version, Shalla-Bal.
Garner spoke to Entertainment Weekly about her character, which finally appeared in the new “Fantastic Four” trailer that dropped last week. She recalled meeting director Matt Shakman to talk about the movie at a restaurant in Burbank, but the conversation was so wide-ranging that she thought she’d be passed over for the job.
“I was confused because I was like, ‘Wait, isn’t the Silver Surfer a man?’ I was just like, ‘Okay, well, I’ll play anything.’ I was a very big fan of Matt’s, so there was already,...

Ozark star Julia Garner takes on the role of a new version of the Silver Surfer in the upcoming MCU film The Fantastic Four: First Steps. She has now broken her silence on the story behind her casting, sharing what she hopes to bring to the role with her take on the character.
In the film, Garner plays Shalla-Bal, a female version of the Silver Surfer who was previously portrayed in the comic books. Though the character has long been established, most depictions of the Silver Surfer are male, leading to a certain level of criticism on social media for the perceived gender-swap. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Garner shared the story behind her casting, revealing how she was also unfamiliar with Shalla-Bal and the different versions of the Silver Surfer. Despite her initial confusion, she was sold when director Matt Shakman told her the plans in mind for her character.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps made waves when they cast the film's main characters, including one of the antagonists, the Silver Surfer. Julia Garner, an incredibly talented actor who recently starred in Wolf Man, made headlines as the first female live-action depiction of the Herald of Galactus. Some fans have speculated that Garner was playing a gender-bent version of Norrin Radd, the original Silver Surfer. However, the three-time Emmy-winning Ozark actress has confirmed the true identity of her version of the iconic Marvel character, and it's a deep-cut reference to the source material.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Garner confirmed that when she signed on for The Fantastic Four, director Matt Shakman explained to her that the character she would end up portraying was Shalla-Bal, the love interest of Norrin Radd and one of the few characters to wield the power of the Silver Surfer.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is coming out this summer and based on the recent trailers, the hype for the movie is very high and the fans cannot wait to see what the final movie will look like.

But, while fans are generally excited about the movie, it hasn’t been without its fair share of controversies, and one of the biggest “issues” was the female version of the Silver Surfer, who will be played by Julia Garner.

Last week, a new trailer for Fantastic Four: First Steps was released. The response around the internet was almost entirely positive with the most common complaint being the Thing’s voice sounding exactly like Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The official trailer has over sixteen million views on YouTube with over four hundred forty thousand likes.
The trailer debuted Julia Garner's Silver Surfer and Pedro Pascal's Mister Fantastic's stretching powers. It showed us more of the dynamic between the members of Marvel's first family, a but more of Galactus who looks incredible, and some destruction he will bring upon the world.
Marvel sent out a press release to celebrate something different: the reveal of the Avengers: Doomsday cast list. The live stream was over five hours long, brought in millions of viewers, and set the Marvel fandom on fire. The huge list of names included all of the Fantastic Four. The...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps star and Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic actor Pedro Pascal touched upon the inspiration for Mister Fantastic's stretching power. This comes after The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman and Johnny Storm/The Human Torch actor Joseph Quinn delved into changes to the Master of Flame.
Pascal brought this subject up in an interview with ComicBook.com, avowing, "With Reed, his body may stretch, but this is a brain character. I guess I'll just give it completely away. Post-Endgame, the MCU has had an issue of underwhelming visuals, mostly stemming from its rapid release schedule. Although things are looking promising for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, thanks to its 60s-inspired retro-futuristic look and its reliance on practical effects, the new trailer has raised some new concerns.
Following Julia Garner’s casting in the shoes of Silver Surfer last year, the new trailer for the upcoming movie has finally delivered a first look for her iteration, and fans are mostly divided.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Stills Reveal An Official New Look At The McU's Female Silver Surfer
The McU's Herald of Galactus has finally been revealed!
Earlier today, Marvel Studios shared an action-packed new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps (you can watch it here). Among the biggest talking points was our first look at Julia Garner's Silver Surfer, a character who has so far caused quite a bit of controversy.
The news that Galactus' Herald would be female wasn't well-received by some fans, even though this is likely Shalla-Bal rather than a gender-swapped Norrin Radd. There's even precedent for a female Surfer on the page, with the Earth X comic - an apparent source of inspiration for filmmaker Matt Shakman - putting her front and centre.
Marvel Studios has now shared some official stills from The Fantastic Four: First Steps, one of which offers a detailed look at the McU's Silver Surfer. Judging by some shots in the trailer, the movie's VFX look like...

However, the last time we checked, that era in our timeline didn't seem nearly as advanced as it looks here. Sure, we may have...

The first full trailer for “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” is here and it’s giving fans their first proper look at Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer, warning of the arrival of Galactus.
“Are you the protectors of this world?” she asks as she flies down into the city. “Your planet is now marked for death.”
Naturally, panic ensues, with Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) blaming himself for the incoming threat. Speaking bluntly to the public — who has come to adore the Fantastic Four — Richards admits he really doesn’t know if Earth is safe. But, he and his team vow to protect everyone as best they can.
To add even more stress to things, Reed and Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) have recently found out they’re pregnant. But, at least Johnny is pretty stoked to be an uncle.
As an added bonus, yes, we actually get to see Reed’s...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman and Johnny Storm/The Human Torch actor Joseph Quinn delved into changes to The Master of Flame. This comes after Shakeman touched upon multiversal details for The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Shakman and Quinn brought this subject up in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, with Quinn asserting that Johnny is "a man that leads with a lot of bravado, which can be an affront sometimes," but he's also funny. Quinn went on to further note, "Myself and [Marvel Studios boss] Kevin [Feige] were speaking about previous iterations of him and where we are culturally. He was branded as this womanizing, devil-may-care guy, but is that sexy these days? I don't think so. This version of Johnny is less callous with other people's feelings, and hopefully there's a self-awareness about what's driving that attention-seeking behavior."
Shakman concluded, "He is really smart. He's on that spaceship for a reason,...
