Filming is underway on My Secret Santa, a brand-new live-action romantic comedy that will likely be part of Netflix’s 2025 Christmas lineup. To celebrate, Netflix has announced four new cast members.

The news of the four new cast members comes just a week after we reported that Virgin River star Alexandra Breckenridge had joined the cast and would be filming ahead of Virgin River season 7, starting its shoot in Canada a few weeks later and filming officially kicked off on the movie in Kamloops, BC, on February 3rd, with a scheduled wrap for February 27th. Almost all the major voice actors from The Last of Us video games have roles in HBOs TV adaptation, with some of them even reprising their original characters from the games. Video game adaptations have been notoriously disappointing because they usually have no respect for the source material. But HBOs The Last of Us is an exception because the creator of the franchise himself, Neil Druckmann, is one of the showrunners. This has meant that the TV series is passionately faithful to the games its adapting in more ways than just sticking to the story.

Searchlight Pictures has released the official trailer for the psychological horror-thriller film Hold Your Breath, which will debut on Hulu on October 3, 2024. Previously titled “Dust,” Hold Your Breath is rated R for some violence/disturbing images.

The film is set in 1930s Oklahoma amid the region’s horrific dust storms. A woman, played by Sarah Paulson, is convinced that a sinister presence threatens her family.

Hold Your Breath is set to premiere in the Special Presentations section at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 2024. Karrie Crouse and Will Joines directed the film, which Crouse wrote.

The cast includes Sarah Paulson, Amiah Miller, Annaleigh Ashford, Alona Jane Robbins, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear). Alix Madigan and Lucas Joaquin produced the movie.

“Sarah is an extraordinary artist, and we are thrilled to be working with her again,” said Searchlight Pictures previously. Paulson starred in Searchlight’s 12 Years a Slave and Martha Marcy May Marlene.

Academy Award winner Streep has funded The Writers Lab since 2014, and the program is still the only offering in the world dedicated exclusively to elevating the work of women and non-binary screenwriters over the age of 40.
