Despite the overt comparison to DC's Universe, there are few comics in the world as chock-full of digs at Marvel as The Boys. Even if the likes of Homelander and his fellow Seven are impossible to see as anything but a riff on the Justice League, the story takes as many opportunities to lampoon, insult, mock, or tease Marvel's icons.
Whether it's the Avengers, the X-Men, or the countless examples of The Boys' version of Marvel characters, the dark satire from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson turns Marvels most stalwart heroes into absolute jokes at best, or downright monsters at worst. So to make sure that everyone can recognize and appreciate the fun being had at Marvel Comics expense, here are just ten of The Boys best shots at the Marvel superhero universe.

New York, March 11 (Ians) People who eat diets rich in green leafy vegetables as well as other vegetables, fruits, whole grains, olive oil, beans, nuts and fish may have fewer amyloid plaques and tau tangles in their brain — signs of Alzheimer’s disease — than people who do not consume such diets, according to a study.
These food items are found majorly in the brain-focused Mind — short for Mediterranean-dash Diet Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay — and plant-based Mediterranean diets.
Although similar, the Mediterranean diet recommends vegetables, fruit, and three or more servings of fish per week while the Mind diet prioritises green leafy vegetables like spinach, kale and collard greens along with other vegetables.
The Mind diet also prioritises berries over other fruit and recommends one or more servings of fish per week. Both the Mind and Mediterranean diet also recommends small amounts of wine.

Filmmakers Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reginald Hudlin were celebrated Wednesday evening at the eighth pre-Oscar dinner of Icon Mann, a media and consulting company run by Tamara Houston that is dedicated to honoring the achievements of artists of color and providing a meeting place for powerful Black men, in particular.
During an elegant ceremony at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills that was hosted by CBS News anchor Errol Barnett, many of the most distinguished members of Hollywood’s Black community gathered to fete the veteran filmmakers behind two of 2022’s most acclaimed films — Prince-Bythewood’s Sony historical drama The Woman King and Hudlin’s Apple TV+ documentary feature Sidney — both of which were glaringly passed over for recognition by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

With so many lies being exposed from Congressman George Santos, “The View” host Alyssa Farah Griffin expects his tenure in Congress to be very short. So she has just one request for when he leaves: do it in drag.
During Monday’s episode of the “The View” the hosts poked fun at Santos for a recent appearance on Oan, during which he said that, going forward, everything he does will be “largely above board” and he will personally ensure that. Host Sara Haines honed in on the “largely” descriptor, while Joy Behar said he was even faking integrity, which was impressive to her.
That said, Behar noted that it seems like the Republican party is “weening him away from everybody,” in what appears to be an effort to push him out if he won’t resign himself. And really, Farah Griffin thinks it’ll probably work.

Kev has been dying to watch the Scott Mann flick Fall and finally here he is getting to talk about it. So let’s see what he thought.
Experience a heart-pounding tale of survival from the producers of 47 Meters Down where sacrifice may just be the only way out. A fast drop and a sudden stop awaits Becky and Hunter as they find themselves trapped 2,000 feet up an abandoned radio tower in the desert. Highly trained and resourceful, these climbers were still not ready for every eventuality. A series of unfortunate events see their gear and supplies taken from them and as temperatures rise and vultures begin to circle, the chance of survival begins to fall rapidly. Also starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen), Fall is produced & directed by Scott Mann (Final Score) and written by Mann and Jonathan Frank (Final Score).
Fall screened as part of this years Arrow Video London Frightfest.

In a deal negotiated by Leslie Cohen, senior vice president of acquisitions for HBO Max, the streaming platform has joined Warner Bros. Discovery OneFifty to acquire the poignant Vee Bravo documentary, “Primera,” a gripping look into the Chilean protests that proved a turning point in the fight against Pinochet-era induced economic strife.
Immersive and raw, the film taps into the global collective’s urge toward positive change, following the heartbeat of this pivotal moment as local activists and citizens strive to upend a stagnant system and rewrite their constitution.
“How can we trust the definition of freedom in a constitution that was written at a time when the entire labor force was kept through violence?” Bravo related. “The past is important, it informs how we move in the present. But it doesn’t mean that we need to be archaic in our approach in coming up with solutions for the future.

Why Fall to Pieces?: Mann Mines Survival Formula for Anxiety Laden B-Movie
From the depths below to the heavens above, there’s no place safe for adrenaline chasing white women, at least according to 47 Meters Down (2017) producers Mark Lane and James Harris, who reconfigure the direction of their imperiled damsel formula for Scott Mann’s Fall. In the latest episode of WandaVision, we learned that Vision truly is worthy of Thor's Hammer. Paul Bettany, one of the core members of the MCU, literally from his inception, was having a tough run in his acting career when director Joss Whedon told him that he wanted him to play Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron. And when he did get an upgrade from an all-sensing AI in service of Tony Stark/Ironman to a wholly self-sustaining android, he got a terrific introduction as a super-powerful sentient being, who could do the impossible. By impossible we mean, lifting Thor's hammer the Mjölnir. Interestingly, the beginning of Age of Ultron had a sequence where Avengers jokingly try to deduce what makes Thor's hammer "exclusive to him" as they all fail to lift it.
But, in the mid-sequence, Vision lifts that hammer like nothing, proving his worthiness to rule Asgard and possess the power of Thor.

Stranger Things has some freaky aspects to it in the first two seasons. For anyone who might think the show is merely a playful advent into80s nostalgia, just a step into the first ten minutes of the first episode of season one will set the record straight on that one. Not everyone would categorize the series as straight-up horror, but it's undeniable that there are some seriously horrifying scenes.

The Republican convention this week delivered cool optics, sharp reality television and an ominous threat to public health, in the opinion of most media critics.
“A political convention is like a movie trailer; if a party messes up, it will likely mess up the election,” according to Franklin J. Schaffner, a politically savvy filmmaker (Patton) who was also a key adviser to the Democratic Party during its self-demolition in 1968.
The Democratic convention that year is, in fact, the setting for a new movie from another filmmaker, Aaron Sorkin, who became fascinated by “The Year the Democrats Lost Their Mind” – a famous Washington Post headline.
Ironically, the Post ran an almost identical headline about the Republicans in 1948 when, after a bungled convention, that party’s smug, overfunded candidate, Thomas Dewey, lost to underdog Harry S. Truman. “Dewey Defeats Truman,” the classic headline, is also the title of a perceptive new book by A.J. Baime.

“Performance is absolutely everything,” declares editor Dean Zimmerman. After winning an Emmy for the first ever episode of Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” Zimmerman was back on hand to cut some of the most impressive installments of Season 3. His secret to making the smash hit series sing is all about emotional connections and breakthroughs. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
“I wear my heart on my sleeve,” admits Zimmerman. That emotional openness is an asset as the editor makes his way through the dailies. Selecting the right take can make or break an actor’s performance, so Zimmerman is always on the lookout for the moments that move him. “I’m really, truly guided by my instincts,” he says.

Now that the world has come to a halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic, people are having more time on their hands than they know what to do with, which has prompted many creative endeavors, especially from celebrities. John Krasinski, in particular, whose A Quiet Place Part II was delayed, has done a lot to help us get through this period of self-isolation.
With more than 5 million confirmed cases and 300,000 deaths, most countries around the world are still implementing strict social distancing laws in an attempt to curb the spread of the deadly disease. If only it were that simple, though. At this point, self-isolation seems like the most logical way for the masses to help defeat the novel coronavirus, but spending so much time at home without anything to do isn’t exactly a walk in the park. While most attempts from celebrities to help us through the current pandemic have been in vain,...

Ready for another Avengers: Infinity War theory to pick your brain?
Over on Reddit, someone by the name of ‘chunkypeanutbutted’ (top marks for that username) has cobbled together some clues to claim that Thanos may have created another universe using the Infinity Gauntlet.
Fair warning: this theory was essentially debunked only six days ago, but this particular Redditor offers a little more insight into how Infinity War may shape and inform Avengers 4. They’re seemingly two very different movies, but you really can’t have one without the other.
And below, you’ll see why the Mad Titan may have harnessed the power of all six Infinity Stones – namely Power, Space, Time, Mind, Soul and Reality – to create another universe for the likes of Spider-Man, Black Panther and Doctor Strange.
Assume that the universes experience time at the same rate. Universe 1, with Cap, Iron Man, etc we see in Avengers...

Kapoor & Sons (Since 1921) has all the right ingredients of a Dharma film: two rumoured lovebirds Aalia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra with great chemistry, a deliciously handsome Fawad Khan, and a quirky director in Shakun Batra. Part of that list includes a great album that’ll continue to be played long after it’s left cinemas, and Kapoor & Sons has some gems on its soundtrack. The music has been composed by Amaal Mallik, Badshah, Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Tanishk Bagchi, and Nucleya.
Kar Gayi Chull is an absolute banger, since it reworks Badshah and Fazilpuria’s original “Chull” in the best way. Instead of going with pounding drop that was spaced out in the original, they add louder horns and trippy electro beats. They also have Sukriti and Neha Kakkar chiming for the female verses, but it’s still a bit iffy to hear that Badshah kept the line, “Ladki nahi hai tu hai garam maamla.

Doesn't it seem like the best characters on TV right now are non-fictional? This past week, a colorful slate of Republican presidential candidates took part in a debate so tense and sloppy that it may change the way those events are televised in the future. Warriors point guard Steph Curry and the world champion Kansas City Royals gave prestige-tv–level performances. Meanwhile, a Project Greenlight season that's raised questions about diversity and privilege in Hollywood ended with one final stand-off between producer Effie Brown and writer-director Jason Mann. The One with the Tune and the Recording
We could not pick just one scene from the great Dil Toh Pagal Hai starring Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Karishma Kapoor and Akshay Kumar. However, the two that stand out for our writers are:
That moment when Madhuri and Shah Rukh are in adjoining changing rooms in a clothing store, and Madhuri hears him whistle a tune. She later hears it again and knows it was meant to be!

One of the most exciting releases of 2013 has to be Remo D’Souza’s Abcd – AnyBody Can Dance, which is India’s first 3D dance film. Sachin and Jigar certainly deliver their best work with this album, showcasing their versatility and delivering a consistently brilliant selection of tracks. Each track gets you immediately hooked and even more curious to see how it will be picturized onscreen.
We start off with a bang with, Shambhu Sataya, a rollicking Ganesh devotional song that packs the punch with its loud percussion, and drums that line the track. Shankar Mahadevan opens the track with a soothing shloka, that gives way to the thumping dhols and nagadas. The interplay between Mahadevan and Vishal Dadlani raspy vocals make this a loud treat. Directed by: Josh Schwartz
Cast: Victoria Justice, Jane Levy, Thomas Mann, Thomas Middleditch, Jackson Nickoll
Running Time: 1 hr 30 mins
Rating: PG-13
Release Date: October 26, 2012
Plot: A high school girl (Justice) loses her younger brother (Nickoll) while being asked to babysit him on Halloween night.
Who’S It For? Fun Size is a rockier PG-13 than one might expect, so parents should keep that in mind before loading up the van with tweens and teens to multiplex world. For all you rebellious tweens, here’s something you might like.
Expectations: I had little idea of what to expect going in, except for the idea that this was Justice’s first movie. It’s always curious to see new headlining talent — would Justice prove herself to be something fresh? Is there any chance that this could be her Easy A?

It all started with the snippet of “Bittoo sab ki lega” in the promos, which went viral earlier this year. The song soon stoked the ire of Censor Board who asked for a cleaner trailer, which the producers refused and that phrase has entered the filmi lexicon. This audacious move by the makers certainly got the audience anticipating the rest of the music. One might have thought that the rest of the songs might be in the same naughty vein as a ‘Bhaag Dk Bose’. Along with the music, and hero Pulkit Samrat looking like a distant relative of the Delhi Boy played by Ranveer Singh in Band Bajaa Baraat, the movie certainly looks to capture on the success of their previous Pyar Ka Punchnama. Unlike our expectations, the music is a mixed bunch of tracks that totally get you into the party mood.
