Taigâ masuku (1969)

Trivia

Taigâ masuku

Edit
Naoto Date / the Tiger Mask is the only character who appears in all of the episodes of this anime TV series.
Unlike the first anime TV series, Taigâ masuku (1969), this one was created by the Toei Animation staff with the collaboration of Antonio Inoki's New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and was meant to be a sequel to the original manga series that was written by Ikki Kajiwara and illustrated by Naoki Tsuji.
While the Tiger Mask character has shown up in quite a number of wrestling video games such as Fire Pro Wrestling D, Toukon Retsuden 3, and Virtual Pro Wrestling 64, the video games are not directly based on the story of the manga or the anime TV series.
A second manga series was created from this second anime TV series which was also titled "Tiger Mask II", written by Naoki Tsuji and illustrated by Junichi Miyata, and serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" from September 11, 1981 to January 6, 1983.
The Tekken video game series has a character named King who is an homage of the Tiger Mask, except King wears a jaguar mask instead.
