Principal photography for You, Always primarily took place on location in far-north Queensland, with some scenes shot at Screen Queensland Studios’ sound stage in Cairns.

Grenier, who previously starred in Entourage and The Devil Wears Prada, plays the role of Ethan in You, Always. Ethan is a devoted best friend who soon realises he has long been in love with Dr Jen Bell (played by The Union star De Gouw). The sophomore run of the Peacock series has cast Sherry Cola, Kevin Corrigan, Ben Marshall, and Kathrine Narducci.

They will appear alongside series lead Natasha Lyonne and previously announced guest stars Giancarlo Esposito, Katie Holmes, Kumail Nanjiani, and Gaby Hoffmann.

This will mark a reunion for Lyonne and Corrigan, who previously worked together in the 1998 film “Slums of Beverly Hills.” Marshall, meanwhile, was a writer on “Saturday Night Live” when Lyonne hosted the series in 2022.

Kesha has shared “Joy Ride,” her new single and the first piece of her work not released under a Dr. Luke-related record label. The pop star had initially teased the song on Twitter, writing “You’re right, I am a bitch” alongside a video snippet. Check out the new track below.

The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild on Tuesday revealed nominations for the 11th annual Muahs Awards, featuring 23 categories honoring outstanding achievements in make-up and hair styling artistry in motion pictures, television, commercials, music videos and live theater.

Disney/Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 scored a leading four nominations on the movie side, landing noms in four of the five competitive categories. Netflix’s Maestro also showed well with three noms. On the TV side, ABC’s Dancing With the Stars leads all titles with five nominations, while Prime Video’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has three.

The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild (IATSE Local 706) has revealed the nominees for its annual Muahs Awards, with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 leading the feature competition with four nominations and Maestro close behind with three noms.

Disney/Marvel’s Guardians 3 earned noms in the categories for contemporary makeup, period and/or character makeup, period hairstyling and/or character hairstyling and special makeup effects. Bradley Cooper’s Netflix Leonard Bernstein drama Maestro collected noms for period and/or character makeup, period hairstyling and/or character hair styling and special makeup effects.

The Muahs Guild’s feature nominees vary quite bit from this season’s Oscar shortlist for the category. In fact, Guardians 3 was already snubbed in the makeup and hairstyling Oscar race, failing to make the shortlist of 10 films that advanced to the upcoming branch bake-off.

Candy Cane Lane is a light, pleasant little holiday treat, much like the candy its name suggests. The family comedy takes place on one of those streets nearly every town has, the one where neighbors out-do each other with the decorations, competing for the neighborhood honor of being named the annual winner. This story centers on one of those suburban families, headed by dad Chris Carver (Eddie Murphy). Chris Carver does indeed carve, in this case, handmade holiday decorations, which are overlooked for the prize every year. He is married to Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross), and they have three kids, Nicholas (Thaddeus J. Mixson), Joy (Genneya Walton), and Holly (Madison Thomas). Seeing a pattern here?

In case you missed, the film thoughtfully points that Christmas naming theme out for you in one scene.

“Christmas is not about money,” says Pepper (Jillian Bell), the passive-aggressive Christmas store elf in “Candy Cane Lane.” “Except that it is.” She could almost be describing Christmas movies. From the start, they’ve paired a celebration of the Christmas spirit, in all its enveloping toastiness, with a theme of raw economic desperation. You can trace this right back to the original Christmas movie — “A Christmas Carol,” and by that I don’t even mean the assorted film versions (though I grew up with them and especially loved the 1951 version with Alastair Sim) but the Charles Dickens novella, published in 1843, which essentially invented the modern Christmas.

It was a tale built around money, and the fear of poverty as embodied in Bob Cratchit. A century later, “It’s a Wonderful Life” was essentially a remake of “A Christmas Carol,” albeit it with a small-town American mensch at the center and Scrooge...

A neighborhood holiday house-decorating contest intensifies to an unbelievable degree in Reginald Hudlin’s peculiar Christmas film, Candy Cane Lane. The stakes are high for Chris Carver (Eddie Murphy), a Yuletide obsessive determined to win first place for the most festive home in his neighborhood. Every year, he comes in second to his irritating neighbor, Bruce (Ken Marino). This season will be different — although not in the way Chris expects.

It starts with a layoff. After being unexpectedly and unceremoniously fired from his job, Chris finds himself bereft of purpose. He struggles to tell his family the truth and urges his wife Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross) to keep the news between them. Instead of being honest with his three kids, Chris vows to make this Christmas the best one ever. His daughter, Joy (Genneya Walton), is going off to college next year, which means Carver family gatherings won’t be the same.

Can one man save Christmas? Chris Carver will do anything to make the holiday memorable in “Candy Cane Lane.” The Prime Video film offers a light-hearted spin on the usual seasonal madness, with families competing for the best decorations. Written by Cherry Chevapravatdumrong & Teresa Hsiao, the film stars Ashley Park, Stephanie Hsu, Sherry Cola and Sabrina Wu as four friends on a global adventure of self-discovery — but also drugs, sex and comedy. I expected nothing less from a movie that was originally titled Joy F**k Club, which I find hilarious.

Audrey (Park) is an adoptee growing up in an all-white household, and Lolo’s (Cola) parents just moved from China. Their friendship starts on the playground when Audrey is approached by a bully and Lolo punches him in the face.

Adele Lim’s Joy Ride is a raunchy and propulsive feature directorial debut set in motion by a sweet chance meeting. It’s 1998 and Lolo (Milana Wan) and her parents have just moved to White Falls, a suburban and very Caucasian enclave in Washington state. Their first meaningful encounter with the neighborhood — which Lim introduces in a zippy montage — and its residents is at a local playground. “Are you Chinese?” the Sullivans (David Denman and Annie Mumolo), a white family, asks them. The Chens (Kenneth Liu and Debbie Fan) exchange incredulous looks before snapping back: “Yes, but we speak English.” And, they add, they’re from California.

The Sullivans are thrilled; it turns out their clumsy inquiry was a sincere attempt to help their daughter Audrey (Lennon Yee), a Chinese adoptee, make a new friend. So begins Audrey and Lolo’s relationship, which blossoms from there into an affectionate sororal bond.
