Vacanze di Natale (1983)

Trivia

Vacanze di Natale

Edit
After the first screening the producer was totally unhappy with the movie and said that nobody would have watched it. Carlo and Enrico Vanzina were offended and told him to wait for January 6 to see the results. Nowadays it has become a cult movie.
The filming was done in three weeks during autumn 1983. Where the snow wasn't already present, they put white foam on the ground and the trees, cotton on roofs and terraces and used white bed sheets for longer shots.
The Hotel Fanes where family Marchetti stays was closed in 2002.
First movie of the genre "cinepanettone" (Italian comedy movies released on Christmas time).
In the scene where Giovanni Covelli (Riccardo Garrone) finds his son Roberto (Christian De Sica) sleeping with Leonardo Zartolin (Giovanni Tamberi), he is dubbed saying "ma vedi d'annà a fanculo" ("fuck you"), but reading his lips (and the original script) he actually said "ma vatte ad ammazzà" ("go kill yourself").
