The cancellation of the show was due to the network that it was on at the time, Fox Family having been sold. The show was a part of the company that didn't make it to ABC Family.
Had the cancellation of Higher Ground in 2000 not occurred it's unlikely that actor Hayden Christensen would've been free to sign on to the role of Anakin Skywalker in the 2nd film of Star Wars prequel trilogy, Star Wars Episode 2 Attack of the Clones (2002).
Originally aired on Fridays at 9:00PM on American cable network, Fox Family, now ABC Family. Over the years, reruns of the show have aired on Encore WAM! and Canadian television network, VisionTV.
