Australian Made: The Movie (1987)

Trivia

Australian Made: The Movie

Edit
The 1989 UK home video version had the movie's title re-named as 'Australian Made: Featuring INXS Live' on the cover and was significantly cut by about half an hour removing all of Jimmy Barnes performance despite the fact that Barnes is from Scotland in the UK. Moreover, the 2003 UK DVD edition has the footage of both Barnes and pop group The Triffids completely cut from the concert.
Even though there is about 4 3/4 hours of behind the scenes footage accessible in an item in the National Film & Sound Archive of Australia, little of this was included on the 30th Anniversary 2016 Australian Blu-Ray and two-disc DVD release, despite there being room, and despite the fact that the Australian music show 'Nightshift' played around an hour of it on air during the 1980s. The special features on this edition total to only about around half an hour.
This Australian rock concert movie was shot over the 1986-87 Australian Summer between December 1986 and January 1987.
A book about the series of concerts depicted in this movie was written. It was called ''Australian Made, gonna have a good time tonight: The authorised documentary of the event'' (1987) and was edited and annotated by Australian rock music historian Glenn A. Baker.
The number of attendees at the series of concerts filmed for this movie was estimated at 140,000.
