The Price Is Right contestant breaks game and tells Drew Carey ‘You broke it more’
Image
The Price Is Right experienced its own March Madness as it returned to television after a few days off.

CBS’s game show was on a two-day hiatus as the college basketball games aired for the first round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

While there were no buzzer beaters in those first-round games, contestants often try to beat the buzzer on pricing games.

Sometimes things don’t go as smoothly as planned for The Price Is Right games, and the random moments make it into the final televised episode.

Earlier this month, viewers saw host Drew Carey’s clumsy mistake help a contestant win a prize and play for more.

However, things also became chaotic in the recent episode, as a contestant and Drew broke the game setup in some nervous post-game moments.

9 ‘Price Is Right’ Games Fans Might Never See Again
Image
The Price Is Right has dozens of pricing games in retirement, and some fans want 3 Strikes decommissioned, too. As TV Insider covered last week, Tpir viewers think 3 Strikes is “too hard,” “not fun,” and even “the ‘f*** you contestant, you’re not getting a car’ game.” If 3 Strikes is put out to pasture, it’ll join the games below, all of which left the Price Is Right rotation while Bob Barker was still hosting the game show. Scroll down to learn about those challenges — and to read Reddit users’ commentary on the gameplay. Add ’Em Up To win a new car in Add ’Em Up, a contestant had to guess the car’s price tag, which always had four non-repeating digits. Bob Barker would show the contestant the sum of those digits and would give the contestant one free digit of their choosing. The contestant could pick...

‘The Price Is Right’ Fans Livid, Want ‘Too Hard’ Game Gone
Image
As much as game show fans love The Price Is Right and all of the games that the show comes up with, not every game is a hit with viewers. Recently, fans of the show called out a particular game for being “too hard,” with many calling for it to be removed entirely. So, what did fans have to say?

The Price Is Right: Producers Are Always Coming Up With New Game Ideas

While the end goal for anyone who competes on The Price Is Right is to win enough to make it to the coveted Showcase Showdown, before any contestants can have their shot at that big money and those prizes, they need to win enough at the mini-games first.

The Price Is Right has had some interesting mini-games in the decades that the show has been on the air. Some of them are big hits with viewers,...

‘The Price Is Right’ Fans Demand Removal of Game That’s ‘Too Hard’ & ‘Not Fun’
Image
Every episode of The Price is Right features an undisclosed assortment of games, and that variety is part of the appeal. But fans are offering their two cents about the “3 Strikes” game, which they claim is “not fun” after 14 players lost consecutively with no winner in a staggering three years. For those unfamiliar, “3 Strikes” is a pricing game that debuted on Tpir on February 12, 1976. In it, contestants can win a brand-new luxury car by correctly guessing its price. The contestant is shown eight baseballs: five white ones with non-repeating numbers on them, each representing one of the five numbers in the car’s price. There are also three red “strike” balls with an X on them. After all eight balls are shuffled into a rotating drum, the contestant blindly draws a ball from the bag. If they pick a numbered ball, they must correctly put it in the...

Kanye West’s ‘Jesus Is King’ Still Sounds Like a Work-in-Progress
Ye
On Sunday night, Kanye West brought Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience, his impromptu album-plus documentary premiere event, to New York. What he played — a working version of Jesus Is King — is incomplete. The event itself, announced with mere hours’ notice (though West’s fans didn’t seem to mind), was equally unrehearsed. The security guards at United Palace, an ornate venue in Harlem, lamented the fact that they knew almost nothing about the night’s proceedings; the Yeezy faithful who arrived in search of answers only left with...

The 9 Best Documentaries About the American Political System — IndieWire Critics Survey
Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of film critics two questions and publishes the results on Monday.

This week’s question: What is the best documentary about the American political system?

“13th”

Anne McCarthy (@annemitchmcc), Teen Vogue, Ms. Magazine, Bonjour Paris

Although “13th” is, in effect – at face value – about the U.S. prison system, that’s not entirely what it’s about. Ava DuVernay’s Oscar-nominated 2016 documentary illustrates with poise and punch just how the U.S. political system and the government directly contributed to the highly problematic American prison system as we know it today. From President Clinton’s “3 Strikes” rule, President Reagan’s crack-down on crack cocaine, and more, we see the correlations between political acts and overcrowded jails, wrongly convicted inmates, and young lives lost at the hands of the people who are supposed to protect them. In an ideal world, every American would see this film.
