This is the second of John Paizs's trilogy known as "The Three Worlds of Nick." The other two include Springtime in Greenland (1981) and The International Style (1984). This one is introduced as "The Second World presents ... Nick learns something."
Of the Three Worlds of Nick trilogy, this is the only installment that does not have an unseen narrator.
This short film includes an appearance of fellow filmmaker Guy Maddin. Maddin credits John Paizs's work as an inspiration to make his own movies.
