Confessions of a Teenage Peanut Butter Freak (1975)
*** (out of 4)
Billy (Zachary Strong) is a rather weird young man who doesn't have a very good way with women. Several women want him but he just can't ever finish the deal. He goes home with one woman and before long he's telling her about his peanut butter fixation and how it tied into some of his weird sexual stories.
With a title like CONFESSIONS OF A TEENAGE PEANUT BUTTER FREAK you had better live up to it and thankfully the movie does. I pride myself in trying to track down and watch some of the strangest movies out there and there's no question that this here might be the king of really weird movies that is constantly shocking you and making you laugh. You know you're in trouble whenever John Holmes plays the most normal person in a movie.
What's so great about this movie is the fact that it's willing to do just about anything for a laugh. The "story" is told in a serious way but the situations that young Billy finds himself in are just downright strange and their weirdness leads to laughs. You've got him banging family members, there's a sequence where a woman is attacked by two men who during the act let something slip about their sexuality and yes you have the peanut butter stuff. This film just offers up one weird situation after another and it would be the perfect film to show a drunken crowd of people.
There are plenty of sex scenes throughout the picture with Holmes showing up during the final act. The film works so well because of how funny it is. Not only are the sexual situations funny but so is the dialogue. Strong is quite good in the lead role because he just really seems like this weird character. He also directed and co-wrote the screenplay so it's obviously something very close to him.
The 70's offered up many great porno films and this one here deserves to be mentioned among them. It's certainly the strangest that I've seen from the genre.
