Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence clearly work very well together. They co-starred in movies like the classic 1992 comedy Boomerang, as well as 1999’s Life — which was a dramedy about two prison inmates in the early 20th century, and not an adaptation of the classic board game (nor was it associated with the popular breakfast cereal).
Recently, Murphy revealed that he would like to re-team with Lawrence for a third movie: a remake of It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, the star-studded 1963 film about a frenzied hunt for buried treasure (which was already unofficially remade as Rat Race in 2001). “Anybody that was funny over the last 30 years is going to be in this movie,” Murphy said of the project which hadn’t been written yet at the time.
Then, earlier this month, Lawrence revealed that he and Murphy are currently writing a follow-up to the 1999 comedy Blue Streak, which they would both star in.

Amid the shocking news of a sequel, one of Bad Boys star Martin Lawrences most beloved action outings is all set to stream for free. Released back in 1999, the action-comedy Blue Streak sees Lawrence leading as a master thief who finds himself double-crossed, stashing the diamond hes just stolen on a construction site, and sent to prison. When hes released, he discovers that what was once a construction site is now a police station...and the diamond is buried somewhere inside.
You may not know this, but Blue Streak was, in fact, inspired by a British comedy from 1965 titled The Big Job. Taking its cues from that 60s caper, the action-comedy is directed by Les Mayfield and stars Martin Lawrence alongside Luke Wilson, Dave Chappelle, Peter Greene, Nicole Ari Parker, and William Forsythe. While Blue Streak was met with severely mixed reviews at the time, it saw success at the box office,...

Martin Lawrence is returning for a sequel to his 1999 action comedy Blue Streak.
In what might just be the most out of left field sequel news we’ve reported this year, Martin Lawrence police comedy Blue Streak is getting a follow up, 25 years after the original.
Deadline has revealed that a sequel is in development at Sony. Lawrence is onboard as star and a producer through his company Run Tel Dat. The script has been written by Cole Maliska, but there’s currently no word on who might direct.
If you need a refresher, the original Blue Streak was inspired by, of all things, the 1965 Sid James and Dick Emery film The Big Job. It saw Lawrence play Miles, a jewel thief who disguises himself as a policeman in order to steal diamonds, but ends up being partnered with actual cop, Detective Carlson, played by Luke Wilson. Shenanigans ensue, and...

Martin Lawrence is set to develop a sequel to the 1999 film Blue Streak, which had come on the heels of his success with Michael Bay's Bad Boys. The original film, which co-starred Luke Wilson, Dave Chappelle, Peter Greene, Nicole Parker, John Hawkes, Octavia Spencer, Nicole Ari Parker, and William Forsythe, followed a jewel thief who attempts to retrieve a diamond he left behind at a police station, eventually pretending to be an officer, only to inadvertently get partnered with a real detective. Blue Streak has generally been considered a fan-favorite among Lawrence's filmography.
Now, a quarter of a century later, Deadline reports that a Blue Streak sequel is in early development through Lawrence's production company Run Tel Dat, with Cole Maliska currently writing the screenplay. Alongside Lawrence, who is both starring and producing, the sequel is set to be produced by the actor's siblings, Robert Lawrence and Rae Proctor,...

Martin Lawrence saw a huge resurgence after the premiere of Sony Pictures' Bad Boys: Ride or Die, and now he is teaming up with the studio once more to tackle another sequel. Sony and Lawrence are currently in development on a sequel to Blue Streak, the classic 1999 buddy cop film, according to Deadline. Lawrence is no stranger to the genre, and no stranger to making successful police movies, so it shouldn't come as much of a shock that another Blue Streak is on the way.

Did somebody order a pizza? Martin Lawrence and Sony are keeping the good times rolling after the success of Bad Boys: Ride or Die with a sequel to Lawrence’s 1999 comedy Blue Streak. According to Deadline the surprise project is in the early stages of development at Sony Pictures, with Cole Masika penning the screenplay. In addition to reprising his role as Miles Logan, the jewel thief turned police officer from the 1999 buddy comedy Martin Lawrence is producing via his Run Tel Dat production company—Robert Lawrence, Rae Proctor, and Stacy Lyles are also producing, with Toby Jaffe producing through Rdv Films.
Les Mayfield directed 1999’s Blue Streak, featuring Martin Lawrence as a former convict who becomes a police officer to gain access to a diamond he hid before his incarceration. Because it’s the ’90s, Martin packs the film with signature humor, disguises, outlandish characters, and off-color observations. Comedians...

He is an officer of the law. Kind of. Actor and comedian Martin Lawrence is lining up a return to one of his most critically panned (but loved by audiences) action movie hits, Blue Streak. The Bad Boys star is reportedly looking to revive the action-comedy classic, with Deadline revealing that Lawrence is now working on a sequel, with Blue Streak 2 now in early development. Yes, we are all just as surprised (and sort of excited) as you are.
No cast or director has yet been confirmed, but the report does reveal that Cole Masika is now working on the screenplay, with insiders stating that Blue Streak 2 is in early development with no other talent involved. As well as presumably returning to star, Martin Lawrence will also produce the sequel through his production company Run Tell Dat. Bad Boys, Bad Boys, watcha gonna do? Watcha gonna do when they come for you?
It’s hard to believe, but we’ve only gotten four Bad Boys movies despite it being an almost thirty-year-old franchise. With Will Smith’s stardom reaching truly epic levels, he never really had time to become a “franchise” guy outside of Men in Black (which he eventually left as well), which, in some ways, has been a blessing to this buddy cop series. While audiences are a bit sick of franchises that crank out movie after movie, the Bad Boys films are still pretty fresh, so when they return occasionally, audiences are happy to see them (with the series showing no signs of waning). But, of the movies, which rule the roost as the best of the best? Let’s take a look with our Bad Boys movies ranked list!

The '90s had a plethora of great movies that are considered classics today, and in the age of streaming many can be enjoyed on one platform as some of the best '90s movies are on Netflix. The decade boasted some iconic movies, from the epic romance Titanic to the cerebral science fiction of The Matrix, and even the introduction of a certain spy played by Michael Myers all came within the same decade. The '90s had a bit of everything from romance, thrillers, drama, and comedy, and everything in between, making it one of the best decades in cinema. Much of the cream of the '90s crop can now be viewed on Netflix too.

When Chappelle’s Show debuted on Comedy Central 20 years ago on January 22, 2003, nobody knew who Dave Chappelle was, outside of a few brief appearances in Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Con Air, and Blue Streak in 1999. Mainstream didn’t associate him with stand-up, despite his very first special, Killin’ Them Softly, airing on HBO in 2000, and sketch comedy series like SNL and its ‘edgier cousin’ MadTV were reaching a lull as audiences entered the new millennium. But after the first episode and the closing Clayton Bigsby sketch, which introduced the concept of a black White supremacist, audiences were forced to sit up and pay attention to the man responsible for making them laugh so hard. Not only is the sketch edgy, but it also showcases the silliness of racism as an idea, how anyone is susceptible to being racist, and juggles the subject while remaining humorous. It’s very difficult...

It’s not all just FX on the TV side of things for Hulu this month, however. The streamer is debuting second seasons of its series The Hardy Boys (April 6) and Woke (April 8). There isn’t much to report from Hulu’s original movies arm aside from true crime documentary Captive Audience on April 21. But that doc about one family’s 50-year journey for justice sounds like a must-watch.

In his first series regular role since 2014, Martin Lawrence has signed on to star in the English-language adaptation of the acclaimed Israeli Hot original series “Nehama,” from Topic Studios.
The series tells the story of a happily married father of five (Lawrence) who quits his suffocating job in tech to chase his original love of stand-up comedy. When his wife suddenly dies, he must decide whether he should pursue his dream and risk losing his kids — who are lost without their mother. Described as “hilarious, intelligent, and raw,” the series examines what it means “to seek pleasure and find comfort in the face of tragedy and tackles the timeless challenge of ‘wanting to have it all’ from a uniquely male perspective, with some twists along the way.”
Lawrence takes on the lead role in the soon-to-be titled dark comedy and will produce through his production company, RunTelDat Entertainment, alongside 24 Drafts Studio and Topic Studios,...

Hulu’s list of new releases for June 2021 is highlighted by a host of useful library titles and one fascinating original film.
The original film in question is the one that lends its delightful photo of Pierce Brosnan delivering a baby to this post. False Positive stars and was written by Ilana Glazer (Broad City). It sounds like a really fun, creepy time with a synopsis that reads: “After months of trying and failing to get pregnant, Lucy (Glazer) and Adrian (Justin Theroux) finally find their dream fertility doctor in the illustrious Dr. Hindle (Pierce Brosnan). But after becoming pregnant with a healthy baby girl, Lucy begins to notice something sinister through Hindle’s gleaming charm, and she sets out to uncover the unsettling truth about him, and her own “birth story.” Cool!
Hulu’s other original offerings aren’t too inspiring this month. Only Love, Victor season 2 on June 11 moves the needle much.

Another year, and another daunting challenge to keep up with the number of streaming options available from the big online players. And to mark January 1st, there’s some new content to enjoy on the likes of Netflix, Disney Plus and HBO Max, among others, as well as several notable changes in licensing agreements that may affect how you can watch your favorite shows.
On Netflix, the biggest fresh release is the third season of Cobra Kai, which has been a hit for the service since making the move from YouTube. Critics are already dishing out praise for the latest block of episodes of The Karate Kid spinoff, which had its premiere date bumped up by a week. Other highlights, meanwhile, include Netflix documentary The Minimalists: Less Is Now, and a lot of licensed movies ranging from Bonnie and Clyde to Goodfellas.

So long, 2020, 2021 is here! Now that we’ve entered the New Year, the various major streaming services are starting January with a bang as they all have hefty hauls arriving this weekend. The first day of the month always sees a load of newly licensed titles go up across the platforms and that’s especially the case in January, as Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Hulu and Prime Video have tons of great new movies and TV shows debuting this weekend.
For starters, there’s something for all tastes becoming available on Netflix on January 1st. We’ve got Steven Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, animated comedy Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, both Sex in the City movies, Superbad, Bruce Lee classic Enter the Dragon, horror flick Gothika and not one but two films directed by Martin Scorsese, Goodfellas and The Departed, featuring DiCaprio again.

It’s finally time to start shedding off the terrible year of 2020 and begin thinking positively about 2021, and Netflix is making that fairly easy by starting the new year off the right way. With its first content drop of the month, the world’s most popular streaming service is proving how it got that title with a massive selection of movies and shows that are certain to tickle the fancy of subscribers looking for new stuff to watch.
If you’re a fan of Robert Downey Jr., today is a really great day for you, as the prolific actor has had two additions added to Netflix in a single drop. His 2009 take on the world’s most popular detective can be seen in the simply-titled Sherlock Holmes, and you can also catch him as a doctor in the 2003 supernatural thriller Gothika.

The first month of a new year is a good time to make a new impression. And that’s just what Netflix seems set on doing with its list of new releases for January 2021.
The streamer is coming out strong with a third season of Cobra Kai, formerly of YouTube Premium. The next installment in Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence’s story is set to arrive…eventually. Netflix has not unveiled a released date yet but it will be during this month. While Cobra Kai is the highlight among Netflix’ original series, it’s not the only one by a long shot. Last year’s fun Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous returns for a second season on Jan. 22 and it will be accompanied by Fate: The Winx Saga. Also, if you’re a fan of things that will one day be .gif’ed to death, the Nicolas Cage-hosted History of Swear Words drops on Jan.

January is usually referred to as the theatrical industry’s dumping ground, where projects destined to fail are shoved out into the world to die a slow and painful death at the box office. Obviously, next month could see almost every new release face a similar fate as business is still showing no signs of recovery, but Netflix are looking to buck the trend and rehabilitate January’s reputation as a safe haven for fresh content, and the streaming service have some major original movies and TV shows on the horizon.
The most exciting without a doubt is History of Swear Words, which sees Nicolas Cage hosting a six-episode series that delves into the origins and multiple uses of profanity. Beyoncé Had Two Wardrobe Malfunctions This Weekend Which is Two More Than She’s Ever Had in Her Life
They don’t call Beyoncé Queen Bey for nothing. After all, this is a woman who is not only synonymous with the hashtag #flawless, but has cultivated a public persona so expertly curated and presented that she and her husband Jay Z have often been accused of being leaders of the Illuminati. But on Saturday, the Lemonade singer gave us all proof that she is in fact human just like the rest of us (well, aside from the whole multi-millionaire, most famous woman in the world thing), suffering a minor wardrobe malfunction as she grabbed a meal after her show.

Next month, Netflix offers up a big selection of films of all stripes — modern to classic, animated to live action, Best Picture winners to teen phenomenons — and we’ve picked seven that you should watch as soon as humanly possible, either for the first time or as part of a nostalgic little binge. Enjoy.
1. “Unforgiven” (available October 1)
The winner of four Oscars, including Best Picture, Clint Eastwood’s 1992 film “Unforgiven” is the last Western he directed and starred in, and he made it count. About an aging outlaw tasked with one final job, the film examines the myths of the West and how they’re perverted and distorted over time, as well as the contradictions within established national archetypes. It’s arguably Eastwood’s defining masterpiece, and one of the very best films of the 90s. See it immediately.

In a blink of an eye it’ll be October. The air will turn crisp, the leaves will turn beautiful shades of orange, and you’ll get to crack out your favorite sweatshirt (unless you live in Los Angeles like me, in which case it’ll be 90 and you’ll sweat involuntarily). But rather than playing outside, what you really want to do is watch Netflix. October presents a whole new list of viewing opportunities with classics like Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Patton. If you choose to skip a day of work, what could be better than Ferris Bueller’s Day Off or Snow Day? And then there are no shortage of Netflix originals that are being added. The ones I’m looking most forward to are Mascots from Christopher Guest (Spinal Tap, Best in Show) and the third season of the under-appreciated Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show. For...

Failure is the name of the game here. This is an in-depth look at some of the most common reasons that heists in films go wrong.
Heists in films rarely go right. In fact, the heist gone bad is a plot device that has been used over and over for decades. It adds drama. It adds tension. It adds excitement as the crooks run from the law. Often times, that’s what makes a heist movie so fun to watch, seeing how the characters get themselves out of a tight situation. A perfect heist can be interesting to watch, but doesn’t really enhance or create much conflict between characters by itself. That’s why heists gone wrong are much more frequent in film than heists which go off without a flaw.
