However, the four-hour superhero drama’s $70 million budget did not include Zack Snyder’s salary for the film. He was reportedly not paid for his involvement, which he eventually used as leverage to retain creative control. However, before the Snyder Cut was decided to be released, the filmmaker reportedly had another tiring conversation with WB executives.

Chicago Fire put its various subplots on the back burner for the One Chicago crossover at the end of January, but now it's back to business as usual. As we're all aware by now, the theatrical cut of Suicide Squad was not the movie David Ayer wanted to release and sequel plans were scrapped until James Gunn came along five years later with The Suicide Squad. 

Scott Eastwood played original character GQ Edwards in Suicide Squad and early online theories suggested he could be the Dceu's Steve Trevor. While that didn't pan out, the actor recently told Screen Rant about Ayer's hopes to bring him back as someone else altogether.

If David Ayer had directed Suicide Squad 2, Scott Eastwood’s character, Lieutenant GQ Edwards, might have taken a surprising turn. While promoting his movie Alarum, Eastwood revealed there were talks about him returning for the sequel—but not as the same character. Instead, his role would have been completely reimagined.

“There was talk about turning me into a different character and bringing me back,” Eastwood shared. “But David Ayer didn’t end up directing the next film. So I thought, ‘Let’s see what’s next. Is it a cool character? Who would it be?’” Unfortunately, those ideas never came to life without Ayer at the helm.

Fans have long speculated about what Edwards’ new identity might have been, with some suggesting he could have been revealed as Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing. Eastwood didn’t confirm any details but hinted that Ayer had plans to give Edwards a bigger role in the sequel.

Saudi Arabia’s Neom Media production hub and the kingdom’s Hakawati Entertainment have forged a strategic partnership to produce up to nine feature films and establish a new on-site services unit “supported by experienced Hollywood-level talent and significant financial investments,” they said in a statement.

Neom, which is the site of Saudi’s futuristic city in the making, is clearly keen to attract more international productions such as $150 million tentpole “Desert Warrior,” featuring an all-star international cast led by “Captain America” star Anthony Mackie, that three years ago shot in the sprawling area located in Tabuk on the Red Sea coast.
