Though critics did pan the movie in its era, this is one of the few movies which shows the famous "Yé-Yé" (pronounced "Yay-yay") era, in which TV shows like Shindig (USA) and "Salut les Copains" (France) received singing idols and performed over screaming fans. Joel Denis was host of one of these then-shows, "Jeunesse d'Aujourd'hui", which many 60s Quebec and sometimes France pop stars came to sing their latest hits.
