Godzilla 2000 (1999)

FAQ

Godzilla 2000

FAQ

The suit used for this film, called the, MireGoji, is the only suit that was painted green. This suit would be reused for the following film before being retired. Every other official Godzilla design before or since has been a dark grey or near black color. The idea that Godzilla is green is a popular misconception.

To tighten the film for theaters, several scenes have been shortened at the beginning or ending (arrivals, pan shots to faces etc.). As a result of that, there are more than 100 cuts in the US Version.

Furthermore, the order of some scenes has been changed, and the soundtrack and the sound effects have been edited. For example, Godzilla is given some roars from the recent American Godzilla film, the monster Orga's roar, originally a stock roar used for Cretaceous King Ghidorah in Renaissance de Mothra 3 (1998), is replaced with a new more menacing bellow, and some of Akira Ifukube's cues are worked into the soundtrack.
