Nothing you wouldn't expect

Very typical Norwegian crime movie trying very hard to be American, and trying to be American and not quite making it always results in becoming rather boring. I mean, even few American movies make it. There are some good moments tho, and Bjørn Sundquist is as always brilliant.

Tightly plotted, tautly wound thriller.

I had no expectations at the start of this movie and reached the end impressed at its proficiency in the genre and the strong performances of its lead actors. Andrine Sæther is convincing as a woman whose life spirals drastically out of control as an initial mistake is compounded by a string of lies and deceptions. Bjørn Sundquist matches her as a tenacious and astute detective who gnaws away at the inconsistencies in her evidence. A tip of the hat also to writer/director Berit Nesheim for maintaining the narrative momentum and keeping us interested in the characters. Well worth your time.

Quite good

"Evas øye"("The eye of Eve") managed to be a quite interesting thriller that was mostly able to hold my interest throughout the movie. It tries to be like an American thriller, and in the world of Norwegian police-thrillers, this ranks as one of the best. Storywise it even manages to pull off a few unexpected turns and twist, and the actors are fine. "Evas øye" is worth a rental. 8/10
