If there’s one thing that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is majorly good at to a significant extent, it’s casting the right person for the right role. For one, it got away with one of the best casting of all time when it decided to go forward with the late legendary Chadwick Boseman for the role of Black Panther – a choice so iconic he continues to leave an indelible mark on fans worldwide.

But while Boseman was one, before him, the studio was reportedly eyeing a different actor to embody the respective character in another installment in Fox’s Fantastic Four film series. Per reports, the one considered for the role was none other than the fan-favorite Guardians of the Galaxy actor Djimon Hounsou. However, the said project could unfortunately never materialize.

As you might expect, Teller wasn't too eager to talk about his brief tenure as Mr. Fantastic while chatting to THR, but he did reveal that he watched the trailer for the MCU reboot, and is excited to see the movie later this year.

Now that's over with, fans believe they've spotted a potentially major Easter Egg on one of the posters which pays homage to Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross' 1994 four-issue comic book series, Marvels.

As you can see in the Reddit post below, the photographer pit front and centre bears a striking resemblance to Philip Sheldon. In the comic, he's a news photographer who witnesses some incredible moments in Marvel Comics history - over several decades - from the perspective of an Everyman.

The first trailer for Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps was released earlier this week, and an IMAX version of the teaser has now been shared online.

Though the trailer doesn't feature any new footage, the expanded aspect ratio does allow us to see a little more of what's going on in the far corners of the screen, and something else happening in the shot of Johnny Storm taking flight as the Human Torch caught one fan's eye.

As previously reported, filming for Marvel Studios Avengers: Doomsday is expected to commence early next year, and we now have some production updates courtesy of insider Daniel Richtman.

According to the scooper, the actors playing the movie's main heroes will each film for about a month starting in March, while those with smaller supporting roles will shoot for a week or two. Robert Downey Jr. (Doctor Doom) will reportedly be on set the longest, filming for about three months. The entire production is expected to take around five months.

It's no surprise that Doom will have a major role, but this could indicate that previous rumors that the villain will actually be the main focus of the movie were accurate. This wouldn't necessarily mean that the other characters will be short-changed - after all, Thanos was arguably the main character in Avengers: Infinity War.

Marvel Television executive Brad Winderbaum gave word of a budgetary goal for the MCU’s Phase 6 that could prove divisive for some.

Disney+ has given the MCU the opportunity to expand its storytelling by leaps and bounds. It hasn’t all been the best-received content that ever was, but a fair few shows have achieved breakout success. However, many of Marvel’s Disney+ series have been marked with high price tags.

The McU's Phase 6 will begin with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and with it will be even more Disney+ series. Beyond Paul Bettany-led Vision show (set to debut in 2026), other expected Phase 6 TV titles include Wonder Man (if it doesn't come out before F4) as well as the cosmic-based Nova series.

The decision has perplexed viewers, particularly when T'Challa's father is typically portrayed as the former Black Panther who fought alongside Captain America in World War II. T'Challa being sidelined spawned many discussions online, with most convinced the decision must be related to Chadwick Boseman's death.

Of course, it also created some continuity issues because T'Challa was Black Panther in the short-lived Fantastic Four: The Animated Series...which is presumably part of the same universe as this revival).

Given the recent shifts in release dates and the crowded schedule, it’s likely that some of these films may struggle at the box office.

Although a majority of the critics seemingly deemed it unworthy, the original Fantastic Four film series is still regarded as one of the best adaptations ever created. We haven’t had a proper Avengers movie since the release of ‘Endgame’ in 2019, and this is the moment that plenty of fans felt the MCU stopped giving us their best.
