Elvis Is Alive! I Swear I Saw Him Eating Ding Dongs Outside the Piggly Wiggly's

Waste of 5 bucks.

I actually thought this movie would be interesting, but instead it was just extremely boring. The only parts that were remotely entertaining were when crazy fanatics told their crazy stories. Other than that it's a snore and I can't believe I wasted 5 bucks on this at Wal-Mart.

There's always that annoying *BEEEEEEEEP* sound that goes off every 5 minutes too. That was a pain.

And lastly, the sound quality is horrible. Its like they didn't edit or adjust any of the sound before they released the movie so when you have interviews the loudness of voice goes really loud or fuzzy...

Its just not the best film that it could be, but okay to watch if you're bored enough and enough of an Elvis fan.

(Which I am. Hence my user name.)

very enthusiastic...

This movie is very original... I thought it was very cleaver and I wanted to watch it over and over again... The film really makes you think the king could really still be alive... If you believe Elvis is still alive, you will find this film very informative... But, if you believe he is long gone... You will find this film very funny.

Fun Mockumentary of Elvis Fandom

This is a fun and offbeat story of a documentary director given the less-than-stellar task of interviewing people who have "sighted" Elvis. We follow the film maker's attempt to make the documentary, being frustrated at every step along the way. Most of the people he meets are not quite sane, which only adds to his frustration, and feeling that he will be overwhelmed by the absurd.

The movie is really less about the King than it is about the fringe legacy of the King; the out-of-touch segment of Elvis fandom without any common sense or a real life to call their own. It is also about searching for the impossible, and trying to find a way to live with the inevitable result (whether it's the director's attempt to make his documentary, or crazy fans trying to track down the hiding Elvis).

A quiet, but fun indie effort, "Elvis Is Alive" will be sure to please the independent film fan, and maybe even an Elvis fan or two if they have a sense of humor.

Fred Willard and Rip Taylor have the two best cameo turns.

Not funny but not insulting either

No, it's not funny, but it's not insulting either -- unless you're the type of Neanderthal who thinks that portraying someone as gay is an insult. That aside, this movie does have two redeeming points -- a) it actually explains what a Piggly Wiggly is (for the benefit of us iggerant furriners), and b) Vicki Lawrence is always a treat to watch.

Eminently forgettable otherwise.

Naw! Elvis is dead! And he's been dead for 23 years!

This movie is nothing but a joke that's an hour and a half too long. There is no proof that Elvis Presley is still alive. He died from drugs in August of 1977 and he's been dead ever since. Even if he was alive, he wouldn't go to the Piggly Wiggly and he definitely wouldn't eat a ding-dong. he was a heterosexual and this whole movie mocks and insults one of the greatest rock n roll performers of the last century.
