Out of all the TMNT copycats that came out from the 1980s to the 90s, Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars was probably one of the most unique and interesting animated series I've ever seen. Even though I never grew up with this show, I was interested to see what it had, and some of it really surprised me. The opening is definitely a great example, because it's fast, fluid, and the animation is breathtaking. Despite the campy dialogue and outdated tropes that a majority of 80s-90s cartoons had, I have to give it credit for being one of the earliest animated programs to have an ongoing narrative as appose to having an episodic structure. The characters are decent, the premise is interesting, the animation is nice and I like how the main antagonist is basically a rogue AI. Plus, the scene where Jenny kisses Willy on the cheek is really precious. In conclusion, Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars is a very nostalgic gem that needs more appreciation these days.
This cartoon never really recieved the credit it deserved, I thought it was actually a pretty well written cartoon and quite fun to watch! It was canceled after the first session disappointing the fans that it had, but luckily the whole session was released on video. It was many times compared to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which isn't a good comparison if you ask me, it is hard to relate to other cartoons because like all great cartoons it is a very original idea for a cartoon. Worth the money to buy tapes, I recommend it to any big cartoon fan/collector.
Far too few people talk about Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars! These days, which really is a shame.
One of the best cartoons of the 90s, Bucky O'Hare follows in the footsteps of the greats from the 1980s, such as He-Man, Thundercats, Ulysses, etc.
Clearly influenced by Star Wars, O'Hare is a swashbuckling journey through a near dystopia caused by political turmoil, all thanks to the antagonists, the Toads.
Space dogfights, ingenious plans, relentless enemies, slavers, interplanetary corruption - Captain Bucky faces them all with the help of an ensemble of unique crew members.
A real gem of the early 90s. Though, I imagine if you're reading this then you already know that.

It was such an amazing show. Such a shame it was only for one series. Also the Nintendo game was epic. Of all the cartoon being remade now, this should be one of them.
I have never read the comic books of Bucky O'Hare before yet but I did hear Bucky O' Hare from video games. When I heard that there is a TV show by Bucky O'Hare I really want to check what is going on with that I am curious to watch it before I decide to play video games and read comics.
When I watched that show it was really good. The animation somehow aged a little well because this show is made in the 1990s. Some of the character designs that I liked are only Jenny, voices in the show are just OK, but somehow despite the show that almost has potential the story and the writing in this show just felt a bit boring and flat.
There is not enough backstory, there is not enough character exploration, and the writing just felt a bit lazy that is one example is that a whole toad army ran away over o e berserker baboon.
In the show is not perfect and not good. It is just OK. But if you feel like wanting a taste of t 1990s then I supposed that I don't mind. I hope this franchise can get a reboot.
