The Offspring Perform “Make It All Right” on Kimmel: Watch
Image
The Offspring stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night to perform “Make It All Right,” a recent single from their upcoming album Supercharged.

Performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s outdoor stage in Los Angeles instead of the studio, the California natives bring plenty of energy and a healthy amount of “ba-ba-ba”s to their rendition of “Make It All Right.” The band reprised their punchy live sound, made all more electric from 29-year-old drummer Brandon Pertzborn, who smacked the drums like he’ll never get the chance to play again. Watch The Offspring play “Make It All Right” below.

The Offspring are about to release Supercharged, their 11th studio album, on Friday, October 11th. The band shared “Make It All Right” when announcing the album in June, and followed it up with singles “Light It Up” and “Come to Brazil.”

The Offspring are back with “Light It Up,” the latest single from their forthcoming album Supercharged.

With a lightning-quick tempo and shout-along melodies, “Light It Up” is a scorching return to The Offspring’s early days as pop-punk pioneers. Vocalist Dexter Holland sings of having a rocket on his back and claims he’s “sick of being nice,” with the band ramping up their energy levels as they reach the song’s explosive climax. Listen to “Light It Up” below.

Holland appropriately deemed “Light It Up” as a “Full-speed-ahead juggernaut” in a statement, saying “This character in the song is fed up, he’s had enough, and he’s gonna light it up. He’s ready for a fight. And I definitely sense a lot of that around me. Growing up, some of my favorite songs were by punk bands that were just like, ‘I’m sick of your shit.

Image
The Offspring have announced their 11th studio album, Supercharged, arriving October 11th. The punk veterans also offered up the lead single, “Make It All Right.”

The feel-good song is ripe for the summertime with a catchy “ba-ba-da” sing-a-long refrain, anthemic power-pop chords, and the imitable and endearingly nasally voice of Dexter Holland. The track oozes positivity and joy.

“We wanted this record to have pure energy — from the start to the finish! That’s why we called it Supercharged,” remarked Holland in a press release. “From the height of our aspirations to the depths of our struggles, we talk about it all on this record…in a way that celebrates the life that we share and where we are now. Our single ‘Make It All Right’ is a great example of this because it talks about the people in our lives who make us feel...

Gossip Announce Comeback Album Real Power, Share “Crazy Again”: Stream
Image
Gossip are back: The Portland pop-rock trio have announced Real Power, their first album in 11 years. Ahead of its release on March 22nd, they’ve shared the lead single “Crazy Again.”

For the long-awaited follow-up to 2012’s A Joyful Noise, the members of Gossip turned to megahit producer Rick Rubin at his home studio in Kauai. Recording began in 2019, though the pandemic put halts on the project; it seems like the result was worth the wait, however, with the album described as an “11-track celebration of the galvanizing might of music, the joy of creative expression, and the power of chosen family in the aftermath of collective and personal trauma.”

“When we began, so much about Gossip was about running away — that was always in the music,” vocalist Beth Ditto explains in a press release. “We survived. We came from nothing, and we got the fuck out of there. And...

Lawrence G. Paull Dies: Oscar-Nominated ‘Blade Runner’ Production Designer/Art Director Was 81
Production designer Lawrence Paull at Comic-Con 2007, discussing the upcoming video version of Blade Runner.
Lawrence G. Paull, a production designer and art director whose work on the science fiction classic Blade Runner earned him an Oscar nomination and won a BAFTA Award, died Sunday in La Jolla, Calif. He was 81. No cause of death was given.

Paull had a long history in Hollywood, designing for such films as Robert Zemeckis’ Back to the Future (1985) and Romancing the Stone (1984) and Ron Underwood’s City Slickers (1991).

Blade Runner was a groundbreaking visual effort, winning Paull an Academy Award nomination for production design in 1982. The Oscar went to the creators of Gandhi, but Paull later won a BAFTA together with futurist Syd Mead and VFX inventor Douglas Trumbull. Three years later, Paull again was nominated for a BAFTA for his work on Back to the Future.

Born in Chicago in 1938, Paull graduated from the University of Arizona. He soon discovered that architecture was too conservative for him,...

We’ve reached the halfway point of Dancing With the Stars‘ current season, and that can only mean one thing: It’s time for the shocking, premature elimination of a very promising contestant!

Even though Dancing‘s Halloween episode won’t take place until next week, the ABC series gave its viewers a fright on Monday night by revealing two frontrunners as the in-jeopardy couples. Sure, the judges have their save this season — but that didn’t do much to console either amateur as they faced potential elimination.

Wanna party like Luke Bryan? Cool, grab some booze and just...go with the flow. The 42-year-old brought his country rock star energy to the 2019 Stagecoach festival in Indio, California on Friday night. The returning headliner chugged beer and did shots during his set, which included songs such as "Light It Up," "Country Girl (Shake It for Me)," "Strip It Down," "Drunk on You," and "That's My Kind of Night." At one point, he told the crowd that a solution if you had to go pee was just to go ahead and let it run down your leg because it would evaporate quickly, then paused and said, "Actually, forget I said that. Luke Bryan
Luke Bryan celebrates the things that naturally go better together in his new song “Knockin’ Boots.” A stripped-down, rhythmic track, the single is the first fresh music from Bryan since 2017’s What Makes You Country. A new album is expected by the end of the year.

“Birds needs bees/and ice needs whiskey/boys like me need girls like you to kiss me,” he sings, going on to name-check a country staple: Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s 1987 “Fishin’ in the Dark.” Hillary Lindsey, Gordie Sampson and Jon Nite wrote the song,...

Kamri Peterson and Artyon Celestine in Dancing with the Stars: Juniors (2018)
‘Tis the season finale of ‘Dancing with the Stars: Juniors’: See the holiday-themed lineup
Kamri Peterson and Artyon Celestine in Dancing with the Stars: Juniors (2018)
As suspected, there was no elimination on the “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” semifinal, so the final four will hit the dance floor one last time in Sunday’s finale. The pairs will perform two numbers: a reprise of their favorite dance of the season — this time featuring their respective mentors — and a holiday-themed freestyle. So again, these young’uns don’t have the pressure of performing two completely individual routines.

The episode is only one-hour long, so there’s a lot to pack in — all of the eliminated couples will be back for a group number — before we even get to the winner. The winner will be determined by judges’ scores and the studio audience vote. And honestly, whoever wins would give Bobby Bones a run for for his money.

However, it was the death of his brother-in-law, Kelly’s widower Ben Cheshire, in 2014 that really shook up his life — Bryan, along with his wife Caroline, decided to take in the couple‘s three children: son Til, now 16, and college-aged daughters Jordan and Kris.

President Trump and Paul Ryan Face Blowback for Tweeting About Autism Awareness
Donald Trump
President Donald Trump marked World Autism Awareness Day by lighting up the White House in the color blue on Sunday.

And Twitter marked the day by shining a light on the falsehoods Trump has spread about autism and its causes.

In recent years, Trump has repeatedly promoted the claim that vaccines cause autism — a conspiracy theory without any scientific proof to support it.

In March 2014, he took to Twitter to call for a halt to government vaccination programs, suggesting they were the cause of a rise in autism reported by the Cdc at the time.

In February 2015, a few months...

Sundance Review: ‘Give Me Future’ is an Illuminating and Rousing Geopolitical Documentary
A modern-day cultural Berlin wall, Cuba may not be receptive to commerce, but it remains open to the art and culture from its neighbor 90 miles north. As such, images of the country remain illusive and seductive to an American viewer. It’s this kinder, gentler world of “normalized” relations that serves as a jumping-off point for Give Me Future, as Edm trio Major Lazer dream of adding a Cuba show to their tour of conflict zones. Known for summer bangers “Lean On” and “Light It Up,” they group has an easier time playing in Pakistan and Venezuela, despite the Caribbean vibes of their most popular hits.

Diplo, Walshy Fire, and Jillionaire have a simple goal: making the world smaller by making the world bigger. Their goal is to find a Cuban-American promotor to work for fourteen months before the announcement of new diplomatic relations between the two countries. Once found,...

Quintino Lights It Up On New Major Lazer Remix
Dutch dance music mastermind Quintino just dropped a new Major Lazer remix this week, offering up his own take on “Light It Up” off of last year’s Peace Is The Mission LP. The producer holds nothing back on his rendition of the track, mutating the dancehall influenced original into a big room banger fit for the festival crowds.

For his remix, Quintino picks up the tempo to bring “Light It Up” into high energy house territory, crafting a markedly different vibe compared to the original version. Massive kicks and warped trumpet samples carve out a pummeling rhythm throughout the drops, while Nyla’s vocals are recycled sporadically throughout the production for familiarity.

While the big room style has lost a lot of its excitement as the sound became more generic and overused, Quintino earns props with his take on “Light It Up” for delivering an original version that bears...

Diplo Uploads DJ Set From Xs Las Vegas’ 7th Anniversary Party
There aren’t a great many artists big enough to help the top grossing nightclub in the world celebrate its seventh anniversary. Hip-hop and bass music icon Diplo fits the bill, though, and he’s uploaded his two-and-a-half-hour set from the March 21st celebration to his SoundCloud account for everyone who wasn’t able to attend.

Before going in, though, it’s worth noting that this was one of Diplo’s more mainstream-friendly performances. Las Vegas nightclubs go for a very specific sound – so where his recent Diplo and Friends set showcased his expert ear for hip-hop, his Xs performance predominantly consisted of big room house and ringtone rap edits.

That said, Diplo‘s DJ set at Xs Las Vegas’ 7th anniversary celebration certainly still had its gems. He was nice enough to scrawl out a tracklist as well, so if you hear something you like then find it by...

Major Lazer Remix Their Own Track “Light It Up”
It’s been a huge year for Major Lazer, and the dance music trio fronted by Diplo shows no signs of slowing down. The group just dropped a new remix of their own track “Light It Up” off their full length LP Peace Is The Mission, which was released earlier this year and led by the hugely successful single “Lean On” with DJ Snake.

The new remix opens with chopped up trumpet samples and Caribbean bell sounds, enhancing the dancehall influences that underscored the original track. Nyla’s electronically altered voice dominates the voices, dropping out during the horn led drops to make way for the infectious, Hip Hop infused beats. Major Lazer fills the new remix with upbeat, islandy vibes and celebratory melodies.

Cutting out the spastic arpeggios and mind bending sirens of the Moombah influenced original version, the group achieves the rare feat of delivering a remix that actually surpasses the original.

Trailer Trashin’: Sizing Up the New Jurassic World Trailer
I’m back, dear readers. I had a great time on my vacation – I was across the pond in London, in case anyone was wondering – and I’ve returned to bring you more analysis of the latest and greatest movie trailers. As I mentioned, I’d written four Trailer Trashin’ columns to be released over the time I was gone, covering four of the biggest trailers that dropped in the later part of April. But I had some computer troubles with this last one, so I’m presenting it to you now. With that said, let’s take a look at the official global trailer for Jurassic World.

Premise: Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park (1993), Isla Nublar, an island located off Central America’s Pacific Coast near Costa Rica, now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond – this new park...

'The Longest Ride' Gets a Steamy & Timely Valentine's Day Trailer
"It's eight seconds. That girl could be the rest of your life." Just in time for Valentine's Day, the latest Nicholas Sparks romance The Longest Ride has gotten a new trailer. However, this isn't full of the whimsy and cheesy romance that we're used to seeing in trailers for these kind of films. Instead, this one seems geared towards the Fifty Shades of Grey audiences (it's probably playing before the film this weekend) with pretty steamy moments between Britt Robertson and Scott Eastwood. And because of that, the past romance Alan Alda recounts takes a backseat for sexiness. It just feels like too much. Watch? Here's the latest trailer for George Tillman Jr.'s The Longest Ride from 20th Century Fox: You can still watch the first trailer for The Longest Ride right here. The Longest Ride is directed by George Tillman Jr. (Men of Honor, Soul Food, Notorious) and...

'Bud N' Breakfast' Is Opening in Denver, and Other Wacky Weed Businesses That Already Exist
'Bud N' Breakfast' Is Opening in Denver, and Other Wacky Weed Businesses That Already Exist Light it up, legally. by erin mayer Now that weed is legal in some states and largely de-criminalized in others, there have been some pretty dope (pun so intended) weed-based businesses popping up. Black Rain writer Craig Bolotin to adapt Nicholas Sparks' The Longest Ride
The Longest Ride lassos Craig Bolton for scripting duties Black Rain starring Michael Douglas, Andy Garcia, Ken Takakura and Kate Capshaw is one of my favorite films of 1989. A riveting action crime drama helmed by Ridley Scott, which was well written by Bolotin, alongside Warren Lewis (The 13th Warrior). That said, it's been a long time since Bolotin worked on a feature; the last feature being in 1999's Light It Up starring Usher Raymond, Forest Whitaker and Rosario Dawson, and prior to that had seven years to his last credits for That Night and Straight Talk. Whether that hiatus will pay off, remains to be seen.

Battleship (2012)
Five Reasons To See 'Battleship'
Battleship (2012)
Unless you happen to be madly in love with Taylor Kitsch or Brooklyn Decker, some of you have no doubt written "Battleship" off as a cheap imitation of "Transformers." How can an alien invasion action film based on a board game be all that entertaining, right? Well, we have a feeling you'll be pleasantly surprised.

The opening scenes between Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgård were flawlessly executed as the pair's brotherly chemistry and Kitsch's off-kilter charm win the audience over in the first few minutes. The film continues with non-stop action once the Navy hits the sea, and continues its intrigue as the movie incorporates the board game layout into the battles.

It's a summer flick that's sure to entertain, so here are our five reasons to see "Battleship."

Because It's Wickedly Funny

From the opening of the movie to the very end, laughs reign in the film. The comedy is...

Did you see it? Did you catch it in all its epic glory? As part of "MTV First: Battleship," the A-list cast &#8212 featuring Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgård, Rihanna and Brooklyn Decker — premiered a never-before-seen clip Monday night (April 30) from the film.

The exclusive scene opens with an injured Commander Stone Hopper (Skarsgård) looking a little worried as his brother, Lt. Alex Hopper (Kitsch), takes a tiny boat of troops out on the water to get up close and personal with the sea invaders. We have no naval experience and even we know this can't be a good idea. But the officers prove to be some fearless competition for the machines as Kitsch screams to Rihanna, "Light it up!" And as promised, the Talk That Talk...

Stop Saying You Are Retiring If You Are Really Not Retiring
Last night, Cher alerted us to the fact she is in the recording studio And recording a song by Lady Gaga and super producer RedOne called “The Greatest Thing.” So that’s cool.

What’s kind of weird though is that the song comes over five years after Cher wrapped up her massive Living Proof: The Farewell Tour, which she claimed would be her final concert tour. Three years later, of course, she began a very successful three-year residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, so it was really less of a “farewell” than it was a “see you guys in a bit.” And last fall while promoting her film Burlesque, she told a few interviewers she wanted to hit the road again for another tour – that she preferred arena crowds to the tourist-heavy audiences attracted to shows in Vegas.

Sure, the living legend never swore off recording (and thank goodness!

"Glee" Music Highlights: "New York"
Last night New Directions were in New York to compete at Nationals. And it felt like a disappointing showing.

First up, Brittany (Heather Morris - or possibly a voice-over singer?) performs a catchy yet insipid original tune, "My Cup."

Next, New Directions hits the streets for a mash-up of Madonna's "I Love New York" and the classic Frank Sinatra/Gene Kelly song "New York, New York It's a Wonderful Town." Madonna probably won't mind, but something tells me Frank would not be happy with the result.

Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) slips away to perform "Still Got Tonight," a single off Morrison's solo album.

Artie (Kevin McHale) and the rest of the Glee guys serenade Finn and Rachel with "Bella Notte" from Lady and the Tramp.

Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Rachel (Lea Michele) perform a beautiful duet of “For Good” from Wicked.

We get a clip of an unidentified girl's...

Rock On The Range 2011: Five Bands You Must See
A few weeks ago, we heard about the lineup for the 2011 version of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which will feature the likes of Kings of Leon, Kanye West, Arcade Fire and the Strokes. Around the same time, a fake Coachella poster advertising a festival called "Brochella" got passed around the Internet, which featured the likes of Nickelback, Creed and a number of others. But early this morning, the lineup for Rock on the Range 2011 was unveiled, and it looks alarmingly like the batch of bands pulled together for "Brochella." This year's festival (which will be held on May 21 and 22 in Columbus, Ohio) features headliners A Perfect Circle, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Korn, Stone Sour and Staind. They'll be joined by the likes of Hollywood Undead, Alter Bridge, Bullet For My Valentine and a number of other high-adrenaline rock bands.

It's a pretty heavy lineup that skews heavily in...
