Bhanupriya's best performance

Bhabhi review :

Bhabhi was a well made family drama in 80s mould. Bhanupriya was great in the titular role. Anand (Andy) Balraaj played her evil husband while Gulshan Grover was the villain eyeing her with his 'jawaani ke jhatke' catchphrase. Govinda played the devar with Juhi Chawla as his love interest.

Govinda-Juhi's 'Chandi ki cycle sone ki seat' song became popular. So did 'Aaja na zara haath bata naa' number.

Bhanupriya made a brief Bollywood career in 80s appearing mostly in Jeetendra films like Khudgarz (1987), Insaf Ki Pukar (1987) and Tamacha (1988). At that time, film magazines touted her to be a Sridevi rival..

In Bhabhi, she got a meaty role and overshadowed Juhi Chawla completely. Infact, Juhi was just there for the songs.

I saw this film at Plaza cinema, Dadar in its matinee show. The film didnt do that well commercially but makes for a one time family viewing.
