    Out on DVD in Australia

OK, so there are few people looking for this - I just picked it up on a whim at the local DVD shop (JB HiFi) but I see you can also get it online from EzyDVD. (PAL Region 4) cheers

OK, well that's weird. Apparently I have to use a minimum of 10 lines of text for this comment - like being back in freaking' school and having to write a 1000 word essay or something. Oh well, that's just the way it goes I guess so I'll keep typing and hopefully it won't take me too long to reach the quota. I must say though that this system really doesn't allow for people who are succinct and have an ability to make relevant or pithy comments. Meh, who cares.

Who wrote the description.. High budget?? It's just a drama.

The stories are ok. It's a decent enough distraction. But high budget it is not Robots and God's are designated by silvery makeup in various episodes. A bit campy.

    Prophetic

Like all great anthology series not only have some of these episodes inspired now established genre tropes, but Welcome to the Paradox is window into many current societal woes.

Low ratings may be suggested reason why this show was canceled, but with the very first episode being a scathing critique of commercialism and the media, I wouldn't doubt if sponsors didn't approve the content.

Isaac Asimov said "Science fiction is the history of the future."

Not every episode is strong, some have messages I don't agree with, but it's a solid series that deserves recognition.

I'm giving it 10 stars to up its average.

It's a shame it only ran for one year.

Welcome to Paradox: Great speculative science fiction, and it's just too bad it only ran for one year.

I watched this when I was living in the US, when it first came out, and was totally amazed. Some of the ideas and story lines were troublesome, yet thought provoking.

A prison without walls, inmates controlled with implants. Being able to force evolution, sentient computers teaching children to behave like machines. Having multiple clones of yourself for ready organ transplants.

What is science fiction in one age/decade can become science fact. It would be amazing if some of the ideas there become reality. Frighteing too.

Some of the episodes were from stories by SciFi greats, Philip K Dick, Asimov, Clarke.

Are we wise enough not to abuse technology? Have we evolved far enough to not resort to basic instincts? Or Will we be seduced by the technology developed and integrated into our daily lives? Many of these questions are explored, and examined.

The answers, however, are up to you.

    Episodes on video

I am with you. This was one of the shockingly best Sci-Fi efforts I've ever seen since the earlier and later Outer Limits series. It is creative and innovative and you're right the production quality is far beyond what you would expect for a TV series.

I have six of the episodes of that series on video tape. I know in my overly vast collection of VHS tapes I have more but I'm still searching for them. I am currently transferring what I do have onto DVD. If you have ANY episodes on VHS or DVD please contact me directly at traveller004@hotmail.com and perhaps we can trade and both have more shows. Hopefully I will have at least one or two episodes that you do not and perhaps you have some that I do not.
