While this movie does move fairly slowly, that is part of its intention. It is all about paying attention to the small details of life. And the tracking of a lost girl is a metaphor for life, how we try to keep on the track of our own lives but we can all too easily lose our way. Linda Hamilton gives an excellent performance in the lead role and it is her acting and narration that holds the whole film together. Kevin Kilner gives a formidable performance as the psychopathic husband. Some reviewers complain about the flashback scenes, claiming they are confusing, but to me they were very clear and they added to the dimensions of Hamilton's character. This is not a classic movie, but it is a superior television movie and it is well worth viewing.

I watched this purely because Linda Hamilton was in it, and the moment I found out it was based on a true story I knew it would suck. The entire movie follows Hamilton, she is in every scene and without her presence the whole thing would suck. Not that it sucks already. There was no excitement, no adrenaline rushes - it was just bad.

I caught Point Last Seen on USA one morning and, having little else to do, decided to watch the movie. Admittedly a sucker for drama (as well as the fine performances from Linda Hamilton), I was immediately intrigued.

The story centers around Rachel Harrison (Hamilton), a tracker searching for a missing 9 year old girl lost in the desert. We soon find out there is more to the story...much more. Rachel's own children are lost - kidnapped by her abusive ex-husband, Kevin (Kilner), whose only goal in life seems to be tormenting his ex-wife and their children.

We follow Rachel as she tracks down the missing girl, but also as she struggles with her past and her present. It isn't long before we realize that after years of abuse, Rachel finally had the courage to leave with her children. Unfortunately, Kevin eventually wins out and gains custody of their kids. It is a long and painfully emotional battle for Rachel to finally get her kids...only to have him steal them from her.

Honestly, this little movie is quite amazing. Although not an action/thriller type movie, it has its moments of keeping you on the edge of your seat wondering if everything...and everyone...will be ok. Linda Hamilton, as always, does an exceptional job playing Rachel. Her voice overs give us much insight into the character she plays and the emotional beatings she, and others, put her through. Kilner is menacing as the ex-husband and plays the role all too brilliantly.

The only real drawback were the flashback scenes. Although they gave much information into the history of Rachel, the person who played the young Rachel looked nothing like her (while Kevin looks the very same). This detracted from the movie a bit, but not enough to make it unworthy of a good review.

If you can find this one, and enjoy drama (particularly family dramas), then check it out. It's worth it for a Sunday afternoon.

A perfect movie for those who can't sleep. It will have you dozing very quickly. The dry unfeeling performance of Linda Hamilton is just awful. The jumping around from past to present is hard to follow.

there are moments of interest but really I had this movie on for background noise.

I was so disappointed as the premise of the movie is actually very good.

Hammy acting from everyone else and the false drama just makes it worse than b grade.

The only good thing in this movie is Kevin Kilner as the menacing, nasty, charming husband.

This was a good movie. Linda Hamilton played her part very well, but then she normally does. I liked that she played a part where she showed how very vulnerable she is to people missing, by her own loss of her children. Having someone kidnap your children would be awful, but knowing what the cruelty and abuse they are suffering at the hands of someone they should be able to trust is worse. I am a big fan of Linda Hamilton and have most of the movies she has been in. I am looking for this movie in particular. If anyone has a copy of this movie that they would like to sell or knows where I can purchase a copy please let me know.

There was no mother-child relationship evident between Hamilton's character and the children. Also, what was with the voice-over by Hamilton that was exactly like her voiceovers in "Terminator"? On and on and on and you expect the Terminator to come in and kill her to shut her up. It's really patronising that the producer of this movie thought no one would notice that she sounds like she's reading for that movie. The setting is also like "Terminator" and some of "Terminator 2" i.e. in the desert with dust flying everywhere and you expect to see an underground bunker filled with guns (and of course the Terminator).

This movie was not convincing in an way, shape or form and Hamilton's phoned in performance didn't help- the same "sad" facial expressions and tone of voice as she used in...you guessed it...The Terminator. The character of her son in this movie was also called "John" like her 'son' in Terminator (please get a baby name book producer). No acting was done by Hamilton in this film and now I can see she doesn't know how to act, I'm put off the Terminator movies that have her in them. Thanks Linda.

Boring can most aptly describe this drama of sorts that follows Linda Hamilton as she preaches about why men are bad (her kids are taken from her abusive husband and she "learns" from this).

It's also quite corny, with bad voice-over monologues that are the sort of unnecessary, lazy techniques that Robert McKee preaches about.

Some work and some don't. This doesn't.

Hamilton has admittedly purposely done these made-for-TV movies because she wants to stray away from Hollywood.

She has succeeded - and they suck.

This movie is all about how good tracker this woman(Linda Hanilton) is. And of course she have a violent husband. No surprise. So there is a missing girl she trying to track from start to finish with no action at all. Just talks about tracking. Everything is focused on tracking and how to use tricks to be good in tracking. And I suddenly realize how bad actor Linda Hamilton is. She suited well in Terminator and Children of the Corn there she had few dialouge. So if you are a tracker this movie must be for you. The movie could not even go downhill because there where no hill to fall down from. I felt tired and wanted to sleep after 15 min. Wow this movie was straight out dry and boring. Even Linda Hamilton looked like she wanted to sleep. Seen ca. 3000 movies and this must be in the bottom 100.

I have seen this film several times on Channel 5 in the UK in the last few years, and have found myself stumbling across it again today. It reminded me just how enjoyable (if you can use that word in this instance) the film is to watch. It's moments focussing on the different agonies of Linda Hamilton's character lead to peaks and troughs in the flow of the movie - making it a roller coaster of a film that isn't your typical.

Sure it has it's weaknesses-it is prone to it's corny moments, but I find that this adds to the enjoyment of this particular film. The voice-overs by Linda Hamilton also have the potential to irritate but I find them quite soothing/calming and they definitely add something to understanding her character. Maybe it is the accent!

Linda Hamilton is convincing as a search and rescue tracker searching the desert for a lost little girl. While the dialogue in many instances of the film left something to be desired, Hamilton's voice-over work when revealing the character's inner feelings and motivation was exceptional. In a particularly well-acted scene near the end of the film, Hamilton brings a heartfelt realism and poignancy that every mother can understand.

Kevin Kilner brilliantly played the violent ex-husband and kidnapping father that you love to hate. Kilner is usually a very pleasant presence on screen, which is what makes this evil performance so impressive.

Way off-the-mark were the flashbacks scenes meant to show the characters early in their marriage. While the premise was a good one, in order to help viewers understand the relationship and its origins, Hamilton's character was played by a young actress who looked nothing like Hamilton while Kilner remained in his character's shoes, looking not the least bit younger.

I just watched this movie on LMN today at 6 o'clock in the morning. It was a little distracted from the movie but I was able to follow the movie very well. A 9-year-old girl went missing from a campsite. The flashed back were to show viewer what her ex-husband put her there and why she left him. Rachel is tracking the little girl 3 1/2 tennis shoe footprint. Rachel learned her ex-husband was put in jail but the children aren't with him. Coreen made a promise to find Rachel's children. In the I am glad the little 9-year-old girl was found by Rachel. Rachel children's reunited with her after her and Frank return home from the search for the 9-year-old girl. Coreen kept her promise.

I'm just getting my breath back after holding it for too long watching this movie! Certainly one of the best I've ever seen, even for a made-for-tv film.

The parallels between 'life' and tracking work well, the acting was top drawer, the scenery magnificent. I can only think the negative reviews here are from insensitive clods, so if you're an insensitive clod don't bother.

The pacing is deliberately 'andante' to match the subject. And the dual ending keeps the tension right to the end. Thought provoking. I've just watched it after finding it on YouTube. Wherever you find it, well worth 90 minutes. Make quite a contrast to some of the dire cr-p produced these days.

The young good looking fellow that plays "Skip the Rookie", I feel steals the scene he is in with Linda Hamilton. I thought the movie was very good, the down side was that "Skip" was not in any other scenes in the movie, nor is he credited. If anyone knows this guys name or if he has done any other work, please post it. It's young actors like "Skip" that make TV movies not just good but really, really, good!! I was struck that such a young and untested "rookie" could make such a "from the heart" comment to Rachel and that she seemed to understand his dislike for his brother, and that he truly would have done anything to help Rachel find this child or her own children..."Skips" performance really tugs at your heart!
