Transilvanya in 1848

story of a fight. for dignity, freedom and political rights. the clash between Hungarians and Romanians. and its result. the portrait of Avram Iancu. and the honest image of an event who remains basis of suspicions between Bucarest and Budapest. a film who reminds more than presents. a fight. and its bricks. a revolution with different wings who becomes fists. a special movie in Romanian Comunist filmography. because it propose a different manner to see the past. because it has the courage to rediscover the real form of events. because it use the right tone for a delicate problem from past. and that is its basic and the high virtue.

honest work

a huge surprise. because it is honest portrait of Romanian revolution of 1848 in Transylvania. because it escapes from the temptation to be a nationalist manifesto , proposing honest fresco of a clash who has expressions in today reality. Vlad Rădescu does a remarkable Avram Iancu. and the film has the courage to ignore the ideological recipes. result - few poetic images, the clear motivations and positions, realistic story about different at first sigh interests, precise definition of the policy of Austrian Empire in the problem of nationalities. it is far to be a manifesto or a pledge for one part cause. it represents only the exposure of events and decisions behind theirs. sure, it is not a documentary. but it has a great virtue - the high honesty to tell the truth about not comfortable events , about a cause and about the force of national ideal. and that is the most important detail who defines it as an admirable film.
