Net Worth is a very compelling story about 4 men in their mid-30's who make a bet to see who will have the greatest net worth after one month. The catch: they must all start over in a new city with no background, just $100 and the clothes on their backs. It's a marvelous exploration of how the men come to evaluate themselves and their relationships through this process of surviving as fish out of water. Most importantly, it never becomes sappy. These seem like real guys with some of the same issues as friends of mine, and the story feels kind of like "City Slickers" with an edge. Michael T. Weiss is riveting as Michael Winslow, a charming ladies' man. Daniel Baldwin is perfect as the smarmy stockbroker Robert Freedman. Highly recommended, and it will be appreciated by men and women alike.
I just loved this story. It had very interesting, well developed characters with real depth that will steal your heart. I really enjoyed their history and friendship with each other. The deal they made leads them on interesting adventures with life changing discoveries. I highly recommend this independant film. I was extremely impressed with Michael T. Weiss and Todd Field's performances as well as the rest. Language and sexual content not extreme.
I really enjoyed the way all of the characters in this movie stood by each other through good times and bad, for the duration of their time in a strange city with virtually no resources. I also liked the fact that it was hilarious in parts. Although this movie was also risque in parts, at least the sex was not gratuitous as in some other movies.
One noteworthy detail in this movie which sort of reminded me of the premise behind "Clean and Sober" was Michael Winslow's struggle with alcoholism. I thought that Michael T. Weiss dramatized it very well.

It just doesn't get any better than seeing the gorgeous "Mrs. Anita Pelaez" over at her and her husband "Captain Kutchie's" place..Some Folks Also Call Him.."The KutchMan!"....(Anita and Kutchie's Key West, Key Lime Pie Factory and Grill)...Just watching the lovely couple baking together all those Yummy Key Lime Pies at their Key Lime Pie Factory and Grill in Asheville. ...It's always worth the trip to visit them in they're Historic Key Lime Pie Factory and Grill...It should be on everyone's bucket list for sure..And The World's Best Key Lime Pies!..YUM-YUM-YUM....."Talk About World Class" What An Understatement!.......AAHHHHH!....The Magic Of The Lovely.."Mrs. Anita Pelaez" And Her Delicious Key Lime Pies Baked With Pure Love...Always....
Mediocre
This is actually a film that could have benefited from being more formulaic. It was meant to be as the corny "true meaning of friendship" formula but before the message was even spoken I got a feeling of bad taste. Here is the problem. . . just as I expected, the wholly unlikable characters do get their just deserts. In fact, I was begging for the predictable ending and I got it. Daniel Baldwin is just another talentless Baldwin. The rest of the unknown actors didn't exactly scored with convincible acting either (excuse me, not as Baldwin #4 is really known).
The writers and directors of this movie should be ashamed of themselves. Evidently, there is no other way to survive in town (literally what its about) but to sleep with the first woman who offers you a warm bed. The message is that women, if persuaded with the right line, are nothing but pure whor.s who are so insecure they would do anything to keep a man. Even the ones who find out they are about to sleep with a married man (innocent waitress at the restaurant, I bet the two kids without the father she had were the result of a fling with a married man). At the end we don't even find out what happens to all the slutty women in the movie. The director just treats them as the one, two night stands and drops them off as such. Shame! I am not a feminist by anyone's standards but that is one offensive message to all women. If that is why you want to come to the theater, I cannot discourage you. The plot is so predictable, the movie cannot possibly be enjoyable. I cannot recommend this film.
